PLEASE READ, to lift your spirits today

I write letters to the editor...lots of letters for Progressive DEMS.....I chose HOPE for this one. With all the posts of us blaming each other lately, please to enjoy mine. p.s. Danstage is the UW spring recital. My sister, Julliard ballerina, is the chair of Dance Dept.

In the movie of my life it was my Birthday. I walked to the gym taking my shortcut past the Homeless Shelter and encountered a guy in sandals having a smoke. 24 degrees. I said, "The birds sound happy, don't they?" He, "They sure do and it's going to be a great day." My brother. I could travel to Africa and bury myself in mud and he'd still be my brother. Courage is risking one's cliches.

At the market an Asian gentleman purchased six packages of chicken paws. I followed him to the counter and inquired, "Might I ask what you do with those?" Flashing me a smile with wings on it, he launched into a story explaining how his wife( he showed me her picture) prepared them, gave me his address and invited me over to partake.

Later I attended Danstage. In "Sounding Off" magnificent dancers tapped: "How is any one person's experience perceived by others? How do we negotiate differing points of view? When is it time to speak up?" These interactions give me back the key to my personality. Our individuality is all we have. Some barter it for security, others repress it for the "betterment of society". But blessed is the one who nurtures and rides it in with grace, love and wit from one peculiar station to the next peculiar station.

Before bed, I caught the last 20 minutes of 'The Doors". Jim Morrison died at 27. I am now old enough to be 27 year old Jim's grandmother. Yikes !!

How do you make the magic of youth stay? Tell it you are going to Junior's Deli on Flatbush Avenue in Brooklyn to pick up a cheesecake, and if it stays, it can have half. It will stay. Aging can be impatient and thoughtless, barging into your room when you're right in the middle of something and it doesn't bother to wipe its boots. And when the brain turns the juice off, the curtain falls, show's over, no waiting up for the reviews.

Now, I know we're better people than we manifested in 2016. May we find ourselves again and find each other May we learn to detect each other's pain before it clots into anger. May we recall from history that no country is too great and sophisticated to lose its mind. May we protect this republic from those who would set us UNfree. May we honor all, from the street to the chalkboard to the Assembly House. May we realize our goodness sets the limits of our greatness. Resist becoming errant members of a selfish, suspicious and fragmented society. Be the foundation of a new one. And, may we ALL, stay forever young.

Wisconsin GOP lawmakers take aim at mounting school referendums

This is from my young pal here in Stevens Point WI. I don't like to complain too much on here about Wisconsin. But they are getting worse, if that is even possible. I am so afraid our petri dish is gonna be replicated in the entire country, now. Folks, DEMs have had no power here for 7 years now. NONE.

Put up your dukes folks. We're going into another fight. Wisconsin GOP lawmakers are targeting local community's ability to create referenda.

Republicans have already cut roughly 1 billion dollars from public education over the past 6 years. Followed by taking what was left and funnelling it from public schools to private schools via the voucher program.

Local school districts followed up to this by launching referenda to cover the funding gaps caused by the GOP. Communities all across Wisconsin respond overwhelmingly in favor of paying a little more in taxes to help out public schools.

Wisconsin GOP legislators respond with a bill to restrict a school districts ability to launch referenda. Wisconsin voters, through countless approved referenda and the election of Tony Evers have said we support public education and will not tolerate further attacks on it!

A message to the Wisconsin GOP.

If you aren't willing to fund public education for our children we will. How dare you try to restrict local citizens from supporting their public schools at the ballot box!

The DCCC barely lifted a finger to help James Thompson. He almost won anyway

The DCCC barely lifted a finger to help James Thompson. He almost won anyway. This article is from one of our guys in Wisconsin. And when we had the recall here, Obama famously said he would put his boots on and get signatures with us. But nothing. In the end the national DEMs left us to die, he said it was too partisan. The story of our party, sadly..Now, for Kansas:

National Democrats? Not so much. An election-eve story by CNN, headlined “GOP cavalry heads to Kansas ahead of close House election,” noted, “The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is not spending money on this race at all, and even the Kansas State Democratic Party rejected Thompson’s requests for funding for mailers.”

The DCCC made some last-minute calls, and a lot of excuses. There were even those who suggested that the strategy was to “fly under radar”—apparently missing the fact that Republican radar detected what was happening and mobilized at precisely the point when Democrats could have and should have moved money and attention to the race.

Thompson suggested that the tepid level of DC Democratic engagement with the Kansas race reflected “establishment thinking.”

Repub candidate tells lady to f**k him, when caught, compares himself to what Jesus did for us today

Religious or not, this is disgusting...Rs and their obscene comparisons....do they know ANYTHING ...

Brian McDowell, a former contestant on NBC’s “The Apprentice” who just filed a petition to run for office last month, was caught on tape asking a woman to sleep with him, slurring his words as he spoke.

“Let me tell you right now,” the candidate, Brian McDowell, said at a Wildwood bar, slurring his words, to a woman who’s barely in the frame. “You should fuck me. It would really be good. Listen, you never know.” McDowell said the woman in the video is a friend of his whose identity he did not wish to reveal.

The footage prompted Cape May County Republicans to pull their support of his campaign, Politico reported. McDowell told the outlet he won’t end his campaign because of the video.

“There are human errors and even Jesus dropped the cross three times,” McDowell said. “I’m not running to be the pope. I’m running to make New Jersey more affordable.”

I saw the new NRA commercial today and it scared the crap out of me

Watch this.....my eyes bugged out of my head. These people are obscene crazy killers. And Cheeto's 27% take this as gospel.

The NRA has released a new commercial featuring NRA spokesperson Dana Loesch as part of its nationally noted “Freedom’s Safest Place” campaign.

Titled “The Violence Of Lies”, Loesch’s commentary says that the left “use their media to assassinate real news. They use their schools to teach children that their president is another Hitler. They use their movie stars and singers and comedy shows and awards shows to repeat their narrative over and over again. And then they use their ex-president to endorse the ‘resistance.’”

According to Loesch, the only way to save our country and our freedom from their lies is to fight the violence with the “clenched fist of truth.”

Did Ben Carson really get stuck in an elevator

Did Ben Carson really get stuck in an elevator or was that just Sean Spicer's way of explaining to the press how slavery happened?
