Scaramucci: Priebus is a 'paranoid schizophrenic,' will be asked to resign

Source: The Hill

White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci unloaded on chief of staff Reince Priebus, accusing him of leaking details of a private dinner with President Trump and claiming he will be asked to resign. Reince is a f------ paranoid schizophrenic, a paranoiac, Scaramucci told New Yorker writer Ryan Lizza in a Wednesday phone call.

Theyll all be fired by me, he said of the White House communications staff. I fired one guy the other day. I have three to four people Ill fire tomorrow. Ill get to the person who leaked that to you. Reince Priebus if you want to leak something hell be asked to resign very shortly.

Scaramucci was angry that Lizza found out he planned to dine with Trump, Fox News host Sean Hannity and former Fox News executive Bill Shine at the White House. He believed that Priebus, whom he has feuded with for months, was the one who told Lizza about it. Mimicking Priebus, Scaramucci tells Lizza: Oh, Bill Shine is coming in. Let me leak the f------ thing and see if I can cock-block these people the way I cock-blocked Scaramucci for six months.

Priebus did not respond to the New Yorkers request for comment. A White House spokesperson did not immediately respond to a separate request from The Hill.

What if Trump Ordered a Nuclear Strike on China? I'd Comply, Says Admiral

The commander of the United States Pacific Fleet was asked a hypothetical question during a talk on Thursday in Australia: If President Trump ordered a nuclear strike on China, would he comply?

“The answer would be yes,” the commander, Adm. Scott H. Swift, replied.

Admiral Swift, who was speaking at Australian National University in Canberra, said his answer was a reflection of the principle of civilian control over the military.

“Every member of the U.S. military has sworn an oath to defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies foreign and domestic and to obey the officers and the president of the United States as the commander in chief appointed over us,” he said.

Capt. Charlie Brown, a spokesman for the United States Pacific Fleet, said the premise of the question about using nuclear weapons against China was “ridiculous,” and not something Admiral Swift had raised himself.

“Perhaps he more forcefully could have refuted the hypothetical,” Captain Brown said. “He was trying to find an opportunity to use it to deliver a message on something positive, and that was the answer he gave on civilian control.”

Former CIA Director: Trump's Boy Scout speech was like 'third world authoritarian's youth rally'

Source: Yahoo Finance

Former Acting CIA Director John McLaughlin was apparently not a fan of President Donald Trump's Monday night speech at the Boy Scouts of America's National Jamboree in West Virginia.

"Trump's Boy Scout speech had the feel of a third world authoritarian's youth rally," McLaughlin, who was former President George W. Bush's CIA chief, tweeted Monday.

Speaking to a crowd of more than 40,000 Boy Scouts, Trump started by saying "Who the hell wants to speak about politics when I'm in front of the Boy Scouts, right?" But then he did just that, jesting that he'd fire Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price if the Senate didn't pass healthcare legislation, and blasting Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, "fake news," and even wealthy real-estate developer William Levitt.

"It just gave me the creeps," McLaughlin told Business Insider, adding that "it was like watching the late Venezuelan [President Hugo] Chavez."

TRUMP RANTED ABOUT YACHT ORGIES TO A CROWD OF THOUSANDS OF CHILDREN

Look, regardless of your take on Donald Trump, there is no question of the fact that his weird stream-of-consciousness way of talking unquestionably makes him one of the funniest presidents in living memory. Ronald Reagan may have had his array of Soviet jokes, but Trump's utterly demented surreal asides ultimately win.

Such was the case in Trump's address today to the Boy Scout Jamboree – i.e. a massive collection of children – where he waxed poetic about a rich friend of his who used to have orgies on his yacht.

No, seriously. Referring to his mate William Levitt, he suggested to a whole bunch of 12-year-olds that the insanely wealthy developer probably used his superyacht for sex.

“[My friend] sold his company for a tremendous amount of money,” Trump told the children. “And he went out and bought a big yacht. And he had a very…interesting life.”

(He emphasises the word 'interesting' very heavily there, by the way.)

“I won’t go into any more than that cause you’re Boy Scouts,” Trump continues. “So I’m not going to tell you what he did.”

Hint for those reading along at home: Trump means that Levitt fucked on that boat. He fucked heaps. That's what Trump means, just in case you didn't quite get it.

He also used his address at the Boy Scouts to talk about health care reform – a topic on which 12 year olds are well versed – and also getting the Scouts to boo Obama. Because obviously.

China and Russia Hold First Joint Naval Drill in the Baltic Sea

Source: New York Times

Chinese and Russian warships practiced together in the Baltic Sea on Tuesday, in the first joint naval exercise the two countries have held in the area, which has been a focus of heightened tensions between Russia and the West.

All sides appeared eager to avoid inflaming the tensions. The NATO alliance, which has six member nations on the Baltic, noted matter-of-factly that the naval drills were being monitored “as a matter of routine.” Chinese and Russian commanders insisted that the exercises were not aimed at any third country.

China and Russia have been holding joint military exercises for more than a decade; they started holding joint naval drills in 2012. The countries see their budding military partnership as a way to show that they do not stand alone, despite efforts by the West to isolate them over various disputes.

NATO, which has repeatedly complained in the past about snap Russian military exercises that were not announced in advance, said on Tuesday that it had been aware of plans for the Russo-Chinese naval maneuvers, called Joint Sea 2017, for several weeks. The alliance said it arranged for allied navies to greet the Chinese vessels last week as they headed for the Baltic Sea.

Ex-Bush ethics lawyer: Trump calling for Clinton to be prosecuted is an impeachable offense

Source: The Hill

Former President George W. Bush's chief ethics lawyer on Tuesday said President Trump calling for Hillary Clinton to be prosecuted is an “impeachable offense.”

“Pressuring [attorney general] to prosecute the person who lost the election is an impeachable offense if we value free elections,” Richard Painter tweeted.

Trump in an early morning tweet Tuesday ramped up his criticism of Attorney General Jeff Sessions, saying Sessions, one of his earliest allies in the 2016 campaign, “has taken a VERY weak position on Hillary Clinton crimes.”

The president’s calls for Clinton to be prosecuted contradicts his claim in November that he wouldn’t follow through on a campaign pledge to seek an investigation into the former secretary of State.

Donald Trump's communications director just set his boss up for a new obstruction of justice charge

Interesting stuff from politicsusa.com:

This is why amateurs shouldn’t be working as the President’s communications director. On CNN’s State Of The Union, Anthony Scaramucci said that someone called him yesterday questioning Russia’s attack on the 2016 election when host Jake Tapper pressed him, Scaramucci admitted that the person questioning whether or not Russia attacked the US was Trump.

Scaramucci said, “Somebody said to me yesterday, I won’t tell you who, that if Russians actually hacked this situation and spilled out those emails, you would have never seen it. You have never had any evidence of them. Meaning that they’re super confident in their deception skills and hacking. My point is, all of the information isn’t on the table yet.”

Jake Tapper broke in and said, “Anthony, you’re making a lot of assertions here. I don’t know who this anonymous person is that said that if the Russians would have actually done it, we wouldn’t have been able to detect it.”

Scaramucci spilled the beans, “How about it was the President, Jake? He called me from Air Force One, and he basically said to me, hey this is, maybe they did it, maybe they didn’t do it.”

Tapper pointed out that Trump’s denial that Russia attacked the election is the central issue here.

Trump’s new communications director couldn’t resist shooting off his mouth and disclosing a private conversation with the President. The result is that investigators now know that Trump has more faith in Russian intelligence than he does in the US intelligence community, and he is working behind the scenes to discredit the investigations into the Russia scandal.

Donald Trump’s communications director just set his boss up for a new obstruction of justice charge.

Just when you think, Trump and his people can’t get any more self-incriminatingly incompetent than they already are, Anthony Scaramucci goes on CNN and proves you wrong.

Delta Air Lines Refunds Ann Coulter $30 After Twitter Complaints

Source: New York Times

The conservative commentator Ann Coulter unleashed a barrage of criticism about Delta Air Lines on Twitter after she was moved to a different seat on a flight on Saturday, prompting the company to publicly return fire and call her comments “unnecessary and unacceptable.”

Ms. Coulter, a pundit known for headline-grabbing comments, began her attack after a flight from La Guardia Airport in New York to West Palm Beach, Fla. In a statement on Sunday, the airline described what happened as a “seat mix-up,” but Ms. Coulter excoriated the airline in social media posts after she was removed from a seat that she said she had specifically booked.

In a statement, repeated on Twitter, the airline criticized Ms. Coulter for “posting derogatory and slanderous comments and photos in social media” about its employees and customers. Delta said it was “disappointed” in Ms. Coulter and called her actions “unnecessary and unacceptable.”

The airline said it would refund her $30 for the preferred seat she bought, adding, “Delta expects mutual civility throughout the entire travel experience.”
