I just wrote Senator Rubio re: hypocrisy

I sent the email below. Texas residents should do the same for Cruz and people from the districts of Ross-Lehtinen and Diaz-Balart, et al. should do the same. I will send it to the local paper as well.

"Dear Senator Rubio:

Why have you said nothing about President Trump’s ban on refugees from certain Muslim majority Countries? As a son of refugees, you should be ashamed of yourself for standing by while our President signs executive orders that are designed to have Americans turn their back on the victims of persecution, rape and abuse.

You denounced the repeal of Wet-Foot-Dry-Foot, making Cuban refugees go through the same process as every other refugee in the world, yet completely ignore an action that denies refugee status to tens of thousands who are displaced by hellish circumstances. Is the Castro Regime any worse than ISIS or Assad?

You know that banning refugees from certain Islamic countries has nothing to do with keeping us safe. You know that the vetting process for refugees is long and detailed, or you would not have objected to the normalization of policy for Cubans. You know that this is a show made by our President to appease his fearful and bigoted followers that ran to the polls hoping to create a homogeneous America.

Your parents were welcomed with open arms by open minded and freedom loving Americans. You are now a Senator in this amazing land thanks to that openness. You are like survivors on a life boat, throwing out the rope to only their friends while beating back with their oars helpless drowning victims because they are not “their people.”

Shame on you for standing by while the President pursues his cold-hearted and bigoted agenda. What, may I ask, are you getting in return from this Administration to go along with something so abhorrent to your own family history?"
