The Venn diagram circles of those who support throwing out the 2020 election results and the Jan. 6 insurrection vs. those badmouthing President Biden and praising Putin almost exactly overlap. And they are being promoted by the same propaganda outlets!

Reuniting children with parents

Why has no one suggested using DNA to match parents and children separated by the heinous immigration fiasco we are suffering through. Seems to me that asking parents and children to provide a swab then running it through the same process that these DNA genealogy services use would provide a provable, undeniable match between children and their parents. I read about a GoFundMe page that was started asking for $1,500 to aid these immigrant cases and ended up with over $15,000,000!!! Seems that some of that money could be used for DNA testing, for example. AmIright?

Preventing terrorism?

I have been monitoring the cable news outlets (mainly MSNBC and CNN, certainly NOT Fox News) following the NYC incident.

It seems to me that there is a lot of discussion directed at how to stop terrorists from coming into the country (immigration blocks, etc.) combined with identifying potential foreign activists that commit these acts.

What is missing is a discussion on how all of these same steps should be taken to identify potential domestic terrorists. We have lost more citizens from domestic acts of terrorism - like Las Vegas (58 dead), Charleston (9 dead), Orlando (59 dead) just to name a few, than all 'foreign' terrorists since Sept 11, 2001 COMBINED!

This VOX article is dated Sept 9, 2016 and doesn't reflect the recent attacks but the message is still crystal clear: we have more domestic terrorists than foreign.

I worry more about the jerk with a AR-15 with a white supremacist tattoo tag than an ISIS operative.

My prediction about Flynn

I have held my own council since joining DU some months ago and, generally, agree with the views of the forum. Some more than others.

I do want to make a prediction about the Flynn situation with regard to his involvement with the Russian meddling in the 2016 election.

First of all, based on what I have seen, read and heard, there is no question that he had a LOT of contact with the Russians. More over, I believe he ABSOLUTELY knows about the level and degree of the Trump Campaign, Transition and on-going Administration regarding the contacts by others as well.

Because of the damage that he could do to Trump et al, the administration will do ANYTHING to keep him from being investigated to any depth beyond superficial. Additionally, if the Senate or House committees were to find something and were to bring charges they would, at the appropriate time, claim presidential privilege and/or pull out a Presidential Pardon to get him off as part of the deal for his silence. And I really have my doubts about the Republicans in the Senate and House allowing ANYTHING serious to happen investigation wise.

If the FBI were to recommend bringing charges the Sessions DOJ will squash them. They would NEVER allow those charges to move forward due to the damage the trial would cause. Sessions and Co would merely 'circle the wagons'.

This administration is so corrupt and self serving that these would not be seen as obstruction but as quid pro quo. And the R's base would support it!!!!!
