Ohioboy's JournalOk, so now that Trump has denied being briefed, what's next?
Is he going to do anything to punish Putin, or is he just going to deny he knew about it and continue to do nothing? He can't get away with not knowing at this point. Everyone knows, and now can see how he will handle it. My guess is he'll find some way to ignore it, and his die hard followers will too.
Has anyone else here ever experienced this from a right-winger?
Ever get a right- winger that thinks they're so smart when they point out the U.S is a republic?
It usually comes up when a Democrat or liberal says something about "our democracy". I hear callers to my local radio station complaining that "libtards" don't know we are under a republic.
If you ever want to stop one of these geniuses in their tracks, see what happens when you inform them that China and North Korea are also republics. And, just for fun I like to throw in the fact that the "R" in U.S.S.R stood for republic also. See the expression on their face go blank.
This has happened to me several times, and so far I have found not one of them that are aware of this fact. It seems to be something they parrot without giving thought to.
If you're lucky you might be able to to explain to them how "democracy" fits in here in America where it doesn't in those other republics. That is if you can get them to listen instead of just blurting out their talking points. Good luck out there.
We are in a bad place in this country
An Attorney General working for a president can destroy Democracy. All he or she has to do is let the president's henchmen go free by dropping their cases. We need the republicans to pull their heads out of the their collective ass and join us in trying to save this country. I doubt they ever will, and that's what scares me the most.
Beau's got a point. They crowded them together instead of spreading them out for safety.
The Trump campaign missed their chance to promote safety with the smaller than expected crowd. Apparently they weren't thinking about people's safety.
I think all riot gear needs to feature identifying numbers similar to a license plate
I don't think we'd have as many instances of police beating protesters if they thought they could later be identified.
Good policemen understand they are our servants, charged to protect and serve
I've been getting the argument that police kneeling makes them look weak and subservient.
I tell those making such an argument to stop putting down the good police. That's the way it's supposed to be. When the system works they are subservient to the citizens of their communities. We The People are ultimately their boss. That's how we keep from having a police state.
The police exist to protect and serve. That is their job. They don't get to decide who they protect and serve, or to show favoritism. They are charged with protecting their communities, whether those they serve are black, white, red or whatever. They are not judges, juries, nor executioners. Believe it or not, the police are even supposed to protect criminals.
Police kneeling in support of the protesters are not weak at all. They are the strong ones that know what being in law enforcement should be all about.
As to these unidentified police we have in DC
The pictures I've seen of them show dumpy looking guys out of shape and not all using the same gear. Are these just a bunch of wannabes?
If so, what kind of training, or lack of training, are these idiots bringing to the game? It's bad enough out there without a bunch of amateur Trump Magats in the mix.
The safest way to do riot patrol, and fun too!

It doesn't count if the war is against your own people!
