Ohioboy's JournalI suffered through Carlson's interview with Putin
It was very apparent from the start what Tucker's motive was. Carlson bent over backwards trying to get Putin to confirm the MAGA talking point that the Ukraine invasion was because of Joe Biden and NATO expansion. Poor Tucker, for all his dumbass blank staring, and resting stupid face, he never quite got what he wanted. After a lengthy filibuster on Russian History, Putin stuck to his lame excuses of fighting NAZIs, and protection of Russian Separatists as being reasons for his "actions" in Ukraine. In other words, Putin wants the world to think he has to destroy Ukraine to save it.
My takeaway from the whole thing: Tucker made a complete fool of himself; Putin proved himself once again to be a liar and a thug; and a MAGA talking point had the wind knocked out of it.
The irony of well- to- do Magats complaining about the economy
I play in a bar band for extra money. I never talk politics while working, but I overhear a ton of bar patrons talking politics each weekend. Last night I was treated to a Magat complaining about the economy. After bitching for 20 minutes about how no one can afford anything, he proudly announced that he would be shopping for a new pickup truck this weekend. The one he has now is OK, but he "wants a bigger one with a crew cab".
The MAGA story of the poor grandmother unfairly facing prison because of Jan 6
MAGA likes to pretend that the Jan 6th rioters were all just a bunch of innocent bystanders that got caught up in the turmoil. One of their favorite "martyrs" is Rachel Powell, or the "Pink hat lady". Check out this interview with her.

A lot of Republicans are essentially already living in a Trump dictatorship
Just look at the republican primary. It's pretty much just a show, with the winner already determined, similar to elections in Russia where they just go through the motions and the dictator they are all scared of wins.
That whole speaker of the House crap Congress had to go through was all for Trump. He dictated that.
Also, republicans aren't doing anything to speak out against all the threats against judges and prosecutors in the many Trump cases. They just let it all go because they don't want to get on the wrong side of any retribution he has already started.
Which is another thing - you never hear them talking out about Trump's "retribution" remarks, or his "dictator for one day" comments. With all the un American stuff Trump says you'd think they'd at least bring it up during a primary. But no, they ignore it to stay on his good side, just like people do who live in dictatorships.
The thing that pisses me off is that they gave up so easily, and can't be counted on to help us save the country.
One of my pet peeves
I can't stand the way self- righteous right- wingers cite Orwell's 1984 as if it proves any of their demented arguments. You can tell right away they've never actually read the book, and if they did they missed the whole point of the story.
The whole premise of the book is how truth and history get rewritten by the authorities to the point where no one knows the truth. The truth goes down the "Memory Hole" and a new story gets written to take the place of what actually happened. If we were living in Orwell's story things like "Jan 6th was just a tourist visit" would become the official story in order to hide the reality that an insurrection was attempted by a butt- hurt cult leader who wanted to stay in power.
As usual they project and ignore the things they do. Just needed to rant. Have a good weekend.
Trump says he won't have time for retribution
That's the same thing the asshole said about golf.
Look at this sickening propaganda
At about the :30 mark
Here's my argument for section 3
Surprisingly, the Constitution does not specify that convicts cannot run for and hold office. Nowhere in the Constitution does it mention this.
It does however state that persons failing to uphold their oath to support the Constitution are disqualified from holding office.
This means that the Founders were more concerned with oaths of honor and protecting the Constitution than they were about keeping convicts from holding office.
In other words, you don't have to be convicted for section 3 of the 14th to apply.
Trump's only role as president on Jan 6
was to keep his mouth shut and prepare for a peaceful transfer of power. He failed.
Biden caused Jan 6 by winning the 2020 election
He made Trump's ego do it. That's the one thing I'll agree with Magats on.
Merry Christmas everyone!
All that old footage the History Channel Shows...
You know... footage where Hitler is spewing his hate in front of thousands? In the future those will be Trump rallies.
Hopefully the story will be how we stopped authoritarianism this time. It will be up to us.
