Laura Lynch, a founding member of country pop band The Dixie Chicks, died on Friday at age 65, The Texas Department of Public Safety confirmed.

The musician died on Friday at around 5:45 p.m. MST after being involved in a car collision on a highway near El Paso, Texas, her cousin told TMZ.

According to a Texas DPS report obtained by HuffPost, a car tried to pass another vehicle on a two-way undivided portion of the highway, and ended up crashing head-on into Lynch’s car.

Lynch was pronounced dead on scene, according to the report. The driver of the car that crashed into Lynch’s vehicle was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. There is an ongoing investigation into the incident.

Santos in plea deal talks with prosecutors: court filing

Federal prosecutors on Monday said in a court filing that they are “engaged in plea negotiations” with former Rep. George Santos of New York to potentially resolve his pending criminal fraud case.

The disclosure came in a letter from the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Brooklyn to Judge Joanna Seybert, proposing a joint agenda with Santos’ lawyer for a previously scheduled status conference Tuesday in Long Island federal court.

“The parties are presently engaged in plea negotiations with the goal of resolving this matter without the need for a trial,” prosecutors wrote.

“The parties wish to continue those negotiations over the next thirty days.”

A Republican congressman was caught on camera at a Washington DC holiday party on Thursday threatening a former staffer in an expletive-filled tirade.

Rep Brandon Williams, who represents part of upstate New York, was seen jabbing his finger at Michael Gordon, his former campaign manager, during the event at the International Spy Museum.

As Mr Gordon protests, Rep Williams shouts at him: “You f*** with my family, I’ll end every relationship you have.”

The former staffer continues to deny any wrongdoing as his onetime boss squares up to him still shouting.

“Do you understand me? You think I don’t know?” the New York congressman continues.

A woman’s voice is then heard to interrupt, saying: “Excuse me? Hello?”

Appearing to realise the scene he is causing in public, Mr Williams steps back from confronting Mr Gordon and roughly pushes away a camera that captured the moment.

As he storms off, he says: “Hey, why don’t you get the police in?”

Sherman High school ripped my brother from playing a male part in his high school play because they do not support opposite genders playing their respective
roles.

He auditioned and had a full supporting team behind him congratulating him for the role in the play "Oklahoma" only for the district to enforce a new rule stating only males can play male parts and females playing female parts.

My brother is trans and I love him to pieces, all I want to say and the reason I'm writing this is because at the end of the day, gender roles are important to the persons choice rather than their original assignment.

As for SHS, and that dickhead district, I'm ashamed I associate my education with you and I'm assure you that the teachers I grew up with would not have stood for this. Do better.
