Who would be serving in the Class 2 NC US Senate seat had Kay Hagan-D won re-election in 2014?

Kay Hagan passed away on 10/2019- less than one year before the 2020 elections. Roy Cooper-D was Governor in 2019. Who would Roy Cooper appoint to Kay Hagan’s US Senate seat in 10/2019?
Deborah Ross?
Janet Cowell?
Cal Cunningham?
Jeff Jackson?
Grier Martin?

I would say Janet Cowell who completed her 2nd and final term as NC Treasurer in 2017 would be the frontrunner for US Senate appointment. Cowell would have won the Special/Regular Election in 2020.
Cal Cunningham would have the incumbency advantage in 2020 had he been appointed to the US Senate in 10/2019.

Had Tom Harkin(IA),John Walsh(MT),Tim Johnson(SD),and Jay Rockefeller(WV) not retired in 2014,

Would they have won re-election in 2014 and 2020?
I would say that Tom Harkin(IA) would still be serving in the US Senate because the Democratic nominee in the 2014 IA US Senate Election Bruce Braley made a lot of gaffes. Tom Harkin would have defeated Joni Ernst in 2014 and defeated any Republican in 2020 despite Joe Biden’s defeat in IA by an 8 percent margin.
