Evangelicals are not black.....according to the news.

That's the only way to accurately suggest that Dump continues to enjoy support from the Evangelical community. It's another way the media white washes a group that is actually very diverse.
According to 538, 5 % of black evangelicals identify as republican. This stands in stark contrast with the fact that 49% of white evangelicals identify as republican. The Democratic Party continues to enjoy overwhelming support from the full diaspora of the black community. This includes 69% among black evangelicals. Interestingly, Hispanic evangelicals lean more independent.

According to the Pew Research Center, the contrast between white and black evangelicals is even more defined.

From The Economist:

The racial divide will take some healing. Of the 27% of American adults who describe themselves as evangelicals, 62% are white, 19% are black and 11% Hispanic, according to the Pew Research Centre. Since Mr Trump’s inauguration last year, Pew has found that three-quarters of white evangelicals say they lean towards the Republican Party. And three-quarters of those people said they thought Mr Trump was doing a good job. Among black evangelicals, 85% said they leaned towards the Democrats, and 86% of those said they disapproved of Mr Trump’s performance.

Let's not fall into the trap of forgetting what the cult of tRump is really about. It's not about faith. It's not about economic worry. It's not about the opioid crisis. It's not even about regulatory changes.
It is now and has always been about one thing...race.

#TotalShutdown: South African Women Take to the Streets To Protest Gender-Based Violence

Britni Danielle Aug, 03, 2018

Activists in South Africa are fed up, and they’re doing something about it. Faced with an upswing of violence against women, citizens took to the streets to demand government officials do more to protect women and children as well as hold perpetrators accountable for their abusive violence.

At the start of the country’s Women’s Month, which runs the length of August, South African women and their allies, wore red and black. They shut down streets and government buildings across the country to deliver a powerful message: “My body, not your crime scene.”

About spicysista

I was practically born a member of the Democratic Party. I began registering people to vote while still in elementary school, often after Sunday school. I'm excited about the future of our party because good, in the end, always wins!
