Largest COVID 19 Hotspot in USA- Smithfield at 518
Kristi Noem you are an freaking idiot and you could have done two things:
1. Worked with the food suppliers to protect the workforce before this happened
2. Shelter in place would have worked regardless of your perfectly clear statement

Replying to @govkristinoem
Let's be perfectly clear: a shelter-in-place order would NOT have prevented Smithfield from happening. They are a critical infrastructure business. They are part of the nation's food supply chain and contribute to South Dakota's role feeding the country and the world. (2/4)

@govkristinoem
We've been in frequent communication with @VP Pence, @SecretarySonny, and the CEO of Smithfield. We're working together on a plan to get the plant open as soon as its safe. A CDC team arrives today to help us assess the situation on the ground. Additional details soon. (3/4)

DUers Stay Strong and Carry On
I typically send out to songs to friends every Friday that I run across and wanted to share one with the DU community that is very relevant for these trying times. The song is Carry On by Our Atlantic Roots and when I first heard it I thought for sure they were from North Carolina. I did find out they are from Cornwall but did spend time in North Carolina close enough in my book
I would encourage you to sit back with eyes closed in these times and take the entire song in... peaceful.

They help drain the swamp, so any removal demands an explanation, Grassley said. Congress has been crystal clear that written reasons must be given when IGs are removed for a lack of confidence. More details are needed from the administration.

To combat the spread of coronavirus, Gov. Kim Reynolds ordered several "nonessential" retail locations to close last week. Businesses included in the order include flower shops, bookstores, jewelry stores, luggage stores and cosmetic, perfume and beauty supply stores. They can still offer curbside pickup or delivery of items, similar to how restaurants may still offer food for takeout.
On Thursday, Reynolds extended her order through April 30.
But Romantix, which bills itself as the "premier adult toy retailer in Des Moines," is still selling sex toys, lingerie and adult DVDs.
