@realDonaldTrump

Rather than putting pressure on the businesspeople of the Manufacturing Council & Strategy & Policy Forum,
I am ending both. Thank you all!

Replying to @realDonaldTrump

Pressure wasn't on the CEO's. You made it easy for them. They didn't want to be associated with supporting white supremacy

The pressure was on YOU! You didn't want to be pressured into being a moral and decent human being by standing against vile racial hatred.

Racism & murder r unequivocally reprehensible & r not morally equivalent to anything else that happened in Charlottesville -Denise Morrison

CEO's of Merck, Campbell's Soup, Under Armour, 3M, Intel, the AFL-CIO & others were right 2 distance themselves from 1 who supports bigotry

It's too late to play clean up 45, you have been exposed as the nation's alt-right white supremacist neo-nazi president. HEIL to the Chief!!

In classic Trump style, you shut down the council so the rest couldn't quit. "You can't quit! YOU'RE FIRED!" PATHETIC!!!

Would you just/i resign NOW, please!

Merck CEO resigned from tRump council due to failure to condemn white supremacists

Merck is an American pharmaceutical company and one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world. It's CEO resigned from the president's manufacturing council stating ""America's leaders must honor our fundamental values by clearly rejecting expressions of hatred, bigotry and group supremacy."

Trump formed the manufacturing council a week after his inauguration as part of a push to create jobs. At the time, the White House hailed the council, including Frazier, as "some of the world's most successful and creative business leaders."

Within minutes Trump fired back at Frazier:

Donald J. Trump
@realDonaldTrump
------------------------
Now that Ken Frazier of Merck Pharma has resigned
from President's Manufacturing Council,
he will have more time to LOWER RIPOFF DRUG PRICES!

Trump denounces the Merck CEO.
That's White House Supremacy.

within hours of him leaving manufacturing council.
It took him 4 days to condemn Nazis and the KKK.

Nothing patriotic or conservative in that.

I wish I could tell why just by looking at them. (sad face)

Odd how @POTUS doesn’t hesitate for a second to
attack CEO of #Merck, yet balks at calling out avowed
white supremacists for what they are.

Venezuelan lawmaker may have issued a Hit on Rubio

One of Venezuela’s most powerful leaders may have put out an order to kill Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, a fervent critic of the South American country’s government, according to intelligence obtained by the U.S. last month.

Though federal authorities couldn’t be sure at the time if the uncorroborated threat was real, they took it seriously enough that Rubio has been guarded by a security detail for several weeks in both Washington and Miami.

Believed to be behind the order: Diosdado Cabello, the influential former military chief and lawmaker from the ruling socialist party who has publicly feuded with Rubio.

Handel: "I do not support a livable wage"

During Tuesday night’s debate for an open U.S. House seat in Georgia, Republican candidate Karen Handel said that she does not support a “livable wage.”

“This is an example of the fundamental difference between a liberal and a conservative: I do not support a livable wage,” she said on Atlanta’s WSB-TV in response to a viewer question about raising the minimum wage. “What I support is making sure that we have an economy that is robust with low taxes and less regulation.”

Handel said that raising the minimum wage could “dramatically” hurt small businesses.

Jon Ossoff, said that “the minimum wage should be a living wage.” He noted that he supports raising the minimum wage gradually so that businesses can slowly adapt to the increase.

Ossoff: "Someone working full time should earn a decent standard living.

Ossoff, Handel Get Into Highly Charged Debate Over Health Care

Source: TPM

Last night was Ossoff v Handel first debate ahead of the runoff, the two candidates butted heads in a charged exchange about the effort to repeal Obamacare underway in Congress.

Republican Karen Handel defended the House GOP’s American Health Care Act in Tuesday night’s debate, hosted by Atlanta TV station WSB, arguing that the current system under Obamacare is “collapsing.” She dismissed an analysis from the Congressional Budget Office projecting that 23 million Americans would end up losing their health insurance under the House bill.

“I reject the premise of the CBO,” she said, adding that the CBO was wrong about Obamacare’s impacts.

Democrat Jon Ossoff criticized Handel for backing a bill “that would gut the protections for Americans with pre-existing conditions.” He also brought up his opponent’s role in the Susan G. Komen Foundation’s decision to cut off its funding for Planned Parenthood.

Handel also stressed that she did not “singularly” decide that the Komen foundation would stop funding Planned Parenthood.
“I will not be lectured by you or anyone else,” she told Ossoff.

In response, Ossoff charged that Handel campaigned in 2012 on her role in cutting off funding for Planned Parenthood and noted that the Atlanta Journal-Constitution has reported that Handel “engineered” the move, which resulted in disastrous PR for the organization.

Although Handel argues the AHCA offers protection for preexisting conditions, a recent analysis by the Kaiser Family Foundation, however, found that under a waiver option the American Health Care Act offers states, there are more than six million people that are vulnerable to being charged more by insurers because they both have a preexisting condition and a lapse in insurance coverage.

Discussions are underway for 3 more debates. Ossoff declined a nationwide CNN debate.

Special Counsel Mueller puts an expert in the Mafia and fraud at the heart of his investigation

Source: Daily Kos

The biggest reason James Comey’s is likely to disappoint when he appears before the Senate Intelligence Committee is not because he doesn’t have a good story to tell, but because he’s concerned about getting in the way of the investigation being led by Special Counsel Robert Mueller. It’s almost certain that Mueller and Comey have met to discuss the limits of what the former FBI director can say on Thursday. Comey’s silences may help to define the edges of Mueller’s investigation, but there is other information coming out that’s giving an even better glimpse into the special counsel’s thinking.

Special counsel Robert Mueller is assembling a prosecution team with decades of experience going after everything from Watergate to the Mafia to Enron as he digs in for a lengthy probe into possible collusion between Russia and President Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign.

The diversity of Mueller’s hires reinforces early signs that the investigation is going to be broader than some expected. So far, indications are that Mueller has his eyes on Trump campaign chair Paul Manafort’s pro-Kremlin activities, former national security advisor Michael Flynn’s work as an unregistered foreign agent, as well as poking around Trump’s actions when it comes to Comey’s dismissal. There have also been indications that Mueller will look into business interests of Trump and son-in-law Jared Kushner, a prospect that may be the most daunting to the White House.

Mueller’s biggest hire to date was [Andrew] Weissmann, who is taking a leave from his current post leading the Justice Department’s criminal fraud section. The two men have a long history together at the FBI, where Weissmann served as both the bureau’s general counsel from 2011 to 2013 and as Mueller’s special counsel in 2005.

Weissmann was instrumental in going after Enron CEO Ken Lay and also in breaking up New York crime families. His position at the heart of Mueller’s team suggests what kind of case this is going to be.

Not sure how long it will take to evict these degenerates from the WH and send them to the Big House but it's about to hit the fan.
