Something weird is happening with President Trump's Twitter (from Gizmodo)

President Trump loves Twitter. It’s a direct stream-of-consciousness rant about whatever pops into his mind (or onto cable TV) at any given second. But here at Gizmodo we can’t help but notice that something is a little different this week. The president’s Twitter feed has become, dare we say, restrained?

Yes, “restrained” is all relative, and there’s always the danger of saying that Donald Trump is “pivoting” at the precise moment that he shows us he’s the same man he always was. But there’s a noticeable change in his tweets from the past few days. Just take a look at his tweets from this morning:

Thank you West Virginia! All across the country, Americans of every kind are coming together w/one simple goal: to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!
12:19 AM - Aug 4, 2017

Toyota & Mazda to build a new $1.6B plant here in the U.S.A. and create 4K new American jobs. A great investment in American manufacturing!
6:02 AM - Aug 4, 2017

Consumer confidence is at a 16 year high....and for good reason. Much more regulation "busting" to come. Working hard on tax cuts & reform!
6:26 AM - Aug 4, 2017

Notice anything strange? Yes, Trump is still tweeting out things in a bombastic manner that would be considered ridiculous by normal presidential standards. But if you look at his most recent tweets, there is a lot less attacking of his “enemies” and a lot more emphasis on what he sees as positive developments. And it’s been happening all week.

Happy 56th Birthday - George Clooney

Maybe you remember him from the old shows "The Facts of Life" or "E.R."
Or maybe you remember him from his more recent movies, but George Clooney has always been a star.

Happy Birthday George Clooney!

Obama sighting: Obama and Biden to attend Pittsburgh funeral of Dan Rooney 4/18/17

Barack Obama to attend Dan Rooney's funeral Tuesday

WASHINGTON – Barack Obama will attend the funeral of Pittsburgh Steelers owner Dan Rooney, who under the president served as ambassador to Ireland.

Mr. Obama is not expected to speak during Tuesday’s services at St. Paul Cathedral in Oakland, spokesman Kevin Lewis said.

The funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m.

After Mr. Rooney died last week at age 84, Mr. Obama issued a statement calling him a “great friend” and a “championship-caliber good man,” who was well-loved by Pittsburghers for both his Super Bowl championships and his generosity of spirit.

Post-Gazette news partner KDKA reports that former vice-president Joe Biden and his wife will attend, as will John Kerry, Teresa Heinz Kerry, and Eric Holder.

About FakeNoose

Hey DU friends! Baby boomer here. I became a voter in 1972 when I turned 21, and I've been voting regularly ever since. For a long time I remained independent - always voting for Dem candidates. However that changed in 2008 when I wanted to vote for Hillary Clinton for President. But I live in Pennsylvania where we have closed elections, and my only chance to vote for Hillary was in the Dem primary. So I joined the Democratic Party in 2008, voted for Hillary, and I've never looked back. Barack Obama won the primary in Pennsylvania, as ell as most other states, and I supported him in the general election. It was a different story in 2016 .... You'll never convince me that Chump didn't CHEAT his way into the White House. The worst 4 years in the history of our country ensued, 2017 to 2020, and the first few days of 2021. We all lived through it and i don't need to explain it now. My goal is to make sure that Chump NEVER gets elected to ANYTHING again. Not even Dogcatcher of West Palm Beach FL. Whether he goes to prison is not up to me - but he must be CONVICTED of his crimes and PREVENTED from running for office again. Better yet - he should be in prison or six-feet-under. You get me? I love the cooperation, optimism and can-do spirit of Democratic Underground. We're a community of liberal-minded Americans and we know how to share our stories constructively and pro-actively. Let's all pitch in and get this job done. There has never been a more important election that right now, this year. Democrats everywhere MUST WIN. Joe Biden must win FOUR MORE YEARS!
