You may have a stock pile of food and other necessities for a while in case things get worse with the Pandemic. And we all hope these things are not needed.
BUT...there is something else EVERYONE should make sure they have.
A current WILL and Power of Attorney. You can't be too careful with your possessions concerning fate whether it happens later or sooner. With the advent of the Virus, without a will, can you afford to take a chance that your family might lose everything you worked and saved for over the years? Not to mention losing a house due to nursing home costs and/or Estate Recovery Costs (in many states they can take your possessions as compensation for provided health care and/or many other things) or other Federal or State Laws you may not be aware of!
Make sure your will is current, signed, notarized and witnessed. Make sure others have copies! That can be very important!
And for goodness sake, if you don't have a will or POA yet, get one made up before it's too late! Do it as soon as possible.
Your Power of Attorney should make sure enough of a succession line of relatives or whomever is enumerated in case you and your spouse (and possibly next of kin, also) should both pass on. Name those you want, but put them all in descending order. This may not be required in some states but it's better to be cautious.
It's something most of us don't want to talk about but it's really necessary to make sure your spouse or children don't get shafted by states or the government.
And don't forget to tell your friends and relatives, too.
It can ease your mind.

After being sworn, 20 seconds after starting his Presidential Address on January 20th 2021, while in the company of current and previous officials, President Biden says this:

I want to let you all know that as soon as this speech is over, on this podium, in front of all Americans and the media, I will sign an Executive Order into law to tear down and remove a great deal of no longer needed, misused steel from the border between America and Mexico.
It will be used in America where I'm sure many better uses can be found for it. I was told by our scientists and engineers that it can be repurposed for a lot less than the original constuction costs.
Further, I am authorizing the many immigrant workers along with their families who lost their jobs, green cards, visas and potential American Citizenship through no fault of their own to be hired at decent wages and healthcare to help remove the steel so it can be used properly for our country.
My Second Executive Order will be to remove immediately the caged people from those disgusting, unhealthy conditions and see to it that not only they get proper medical treatment but they are moved to better, more humane living quarters in a climate they may be more familiar with, probably in Florida...near Miami. Those who took pleasure in mistreating the immigrants and those who wouldn't provide health care, denied them legal assistance and even basic human needs will be held totally accountable for their actions.
My Third Executive Order will restore all overturned Environmental Laws enacted by the Obama Administration so we can start cleaning up the mess recenty left for us and get back on track for a cleaner, healthier country and world for all people and not just for some who feel entitled.

Trump's the kind of guy you don't like at first...

Back in the late 80s on a couple of old, slow 300 baud BBS's (Bulletin Board Systems for you younger readers) a nasty "text only meme" was written and passed around. It started out as a joke but was used to describe those who were (and currently are) without worth. It was called a "Flame" because when you insulted someone you were said to flame them.
Here is that 32 year old "Flame" that may offend some but which describes my feelings toward Trump. No apologies for it. It's long and nasty but with no profanity or obscenity.
