Humans don't abandon their vulnerable offspring .

Maybe that's just me. Help me, dear God. I cannot believe I walk this Earth with those heart LESS 2 leggeds. I do not understand.
I pray for Wisdom and STRENGTH, & Your precious Heart. I don't ask for forgiveness, I can't give it, & surely don't deserve it. I am only human.

Gulf Coast DUers, Y'all ready?

Goood Vibes & Prayers for protection for Ever'body.


I am packing my go-bag, more Family photos & momentos than clothing
Not that I expect to have to git.. but Ya never know.
Funny what is truly important, when things get real.

I have a strong need to make a big ole pot o' gumbo. Clean out the freezer, in case the power goes out..Extra spicy Gumbo, lots of seafood & fresh veggies.
That's goood Medicine. & will keep me busy.

South of Texas, the winds are picking up, & funny rain.. just "sprinkling" but big rain drops. We deal with street flooding alot, so that will likely be the worst thing.
Better go rattle my pots & pans. Stay safe Ever'body, & check in when You can.
You are ALL in my Thoughts. 💖

UPDATE: Not a rough storm, at all. We lost power about 1am, came back on about 5am. Light rain now. Streets aren't even flooded.
HOPE the storm peters out as it heads north & east. I am pooped.. from anticipation, I guess!

Tomorrow is Juneteenth.

Tomorrow, on Galveston, the birthplace of Juneteenth, I will join the procession, from Reedy Chapel, the Mother Church of the AME in Texas. We will solemnly walk from Reedy, to the court house, where Buffalo Soldiers will read Article 3.
FREEDOM.
EQUALITY. FREEDOM.
Usually, there is a JOYFUL walk back to Reedy, & a Service of Spirituals & Gospel music, & shoutin', & Community, & Love, & HOPE, that the future holds great things. Singin' & dancin & shouting with JOY.
Then, we have a lil feast & visit & celebrate.

This year, for me & others, is different. 2 years & 2 days ago was the Charleston massacre. In the past 2 years, how many Black people executed without JUSTICE, by cops & civilians? How many trials not holding murderers to account?

This is the 1st post-Obama Juneteenth. He & his Family made us SO proud, so HOPE FULL.

We lost a Wonder FULL Friend & Teacher this past week. I went to her funeral yesterday, we celebrated her amazing LIFE. Sister Izola Collins had 87 years of rockin' this Earth! 💖
She wrote the book...
"ISLAND OF COLOR ..Where Juneteenth Started"

So, we'll march, & I won't be the only one in tears.

Thanks for this! My 2 thoughts/2 cents

#1) Thank You for remembering single moms.
I was 1, & so was my mom.
#2) "Lord's Prayer".. Although I consider mySelf a Christian, I have strong pagan tendencies. I was once told I'm too "churchy for pagans, & too witchy for church". I'm ok with that.
Anyways, in my researchin years ago, I read an original translation of this prayer, from original Aramaic to Hebrew to English. It was amazing & BeautiFULL! Alot longer, very descriptive, & very little of it sounds like the common prayer we know. The original (as I remember) praised the glory of Nature, Earth & ALL planets & heavenly bodies, that ALL humans & living creatures are equal & related.
Mostly about Love, & compassion, & JOY.. NO fear.
It was beautiful, & I wept as I read it.

Wish I had a copy of it.
