So where is the Dem sweet spot for Senate trial?

All I hear is that it’s a forgone conclusion that Trump won’t be convicted by the Senate. For the sake of this discussion, let’s assume that outcome.

So, do the desired goals become:

1. Presenting ironclad evidence that binds Trump to 1/6 and cements public opinion that he instigated the insurrection and siege.

2. Prevents Trump from holding office again.

How efficiently and effectively can this be done from a timing standpoint? What’s that sweet spot where impact is made without going too long that Americans tune out? Or is length of time irrelevant and it’s all content and House managers ability to sell?

Biden + Harris together at big announcements

Clearly there's a strategy to involve Harris in announcements to increase her exposure and project closeness/teamwork with the President (like yesterday at the State Department, EO signings, COVID initiatives, etc.). They're making good on their promise to showcase Harris as an active VP closely aligned with Biden.

Do you think they'll keep this up for first 100 days only and scale back? Or will they stick with this all the way through midterms or longer? Don't get me wrong. I'm not dogging it. In fact, I think it's brilliant for succession planning. It's just the right amount of expsoure for Harris without overshadowing the President and makes for good optics. This just "feels" buttoned-up and on point. Kudos to all who make this happen.

Perdue's Senate Website GONE

Went online to send a message to him about impeaching Trump, and the site is gone and the official US Senate website doesn't even list him anymore under "how to contact"! Poof. No longer there. No wepage link on wiki either. That was fast.

American Airlines temporarily bans alcohol on D.C. flights after pro-Trump mob storms Capitol

Jan. 7, 2021, 10:29 AM EST
By Wilson Wong

American Airlines issued new “precautionary” measures, including an alcohol ban on flights to and from Washington, D.C., the day after hundreds of pro-Trump rioters stormed the U.S. Capitol.

Andrew Trull, a spokesperson for American Airlines, told NBC News in an email Thursday that they had increased staffing at airports in the D.C. area, among other measures.

"We are working closely with local law enforcement and airport authority partners to ensure the safety of our customers and team members on the ground and in the air," Trull said.

No alcohol would be provided on D.C. flights on Thursday, but Trull said the company would "continue to monitor the situation." Due to the pandemic, American Airlines stopped serving alcohol in the main cabin on Mar. 24, but it is still available in first class, according to the company.

The announcement came a day after a mob of President Donald Trump’s supporters swarmed the U.S. Capitol — a chaotic and at times violent scene that left four people dead and forced Congress and Vice President Mike Pence to evacuate the building. Three of the four deaths reported on or around Capitol grounds were due to "medical emergencies." One woman was shot and later died.

Julie Hedrick, president of the Association of Professional Flight Attendants, told union members in a letter Wednesday that they were aware of several flight incidents where flight attendants "were forced to confront passengers exhibiting politically motivated aggression towards other passengers and crew."

Hedrick advised flight attendants to "maintain situational awareness, and attempt to deal with all safety and security issues on the ground."

“As safety professionals, we are well trained in handling inflight disruptions, but we should never find ourselves having to deal with politically motivated verbal or physical altercations onboard,” Hedrick said in a statement.

“Remain extra vigilant on flights departing from the Washington, D.C. area for the next few days, and involve your fellow crewmembers if you have safety concerns.”

Is this Capitol Building siege being carried live on EVERY F'n network???

Because it better be. And lead the nightly news and special reports this evening.

Show the GD world what these traitors are doing.

We joke about fumigating the White House after Trump leaves.

But the threat is real.

The symbolism of having to deep clean the WH of coronavirus. Rid this place (the WH and America) of that trash.

WASHINGTON – It’s a ritual carried out with precision each time a new first family moves into the White House.

In just six hours on Inauguration Day, belongings of a departing president's family are moved out, carpets are cleaned, furniture is rearranged, fresh art is hung and the executive mansion is transformed for its new residents before they set foot inside.

But staff tasked with preparing the executive mansion for the arrival Jan. 20 of President-elect Joe Biden and his family will do so under extraordinary circumstances: the COVID-19 contagion that has already infected departing President Donald Trump, first lady Melania Trump and multiple White House staffers.

When someone working in a school, business, library or other public building tests positive for coronavirus or is even suspected of contracting the disease, the property owners or managers often respond by ordering the structure to undergo what is known as a "deep cleaning" – a process in which highly specialized contractors are brought in to eradicate the virus with botanical disinfectants.

But neither the White House nor the General Services Administration, the government agency that manages federal facilities, would say what precautions, if any, would be taken to make sure the presidential mansion is coronavirus-free before the Bidens arrive.

"For security purposes, GSA is not able to comment on services provided," said a spokesperson for the agency, which is responsible for helping get the East and West Wings ready for the incoming administration.

The job of prepping the mansion’s residential quarters for the new occupants falls to the White House chief usher’s office, which oversees the complex’s household staff and operations. The current chief usher is Timothy Harleth, who worked at the Trump International Hotel in Washington before Melania Trump tapped him for the White House job in 2017.

The first lady’s office did not respond to multiple questions about whether any anti-coronavirus measures would be taken to prepare the White House residence for the Bidens.

Sheldon Yellen, who operates a multinational property restoration company that has performed deep cleanings for thousands of clients since the coronavirus pandemic struck, advises giving the same cleansing treatment to a home before new occupants move in.

"If I were buying a new house right now or I were moving into a new house, I would surely want my new house thoroughly treated and cleaned," said Yellen, chief executive officer of Belfor Property Restoration in Birmingham, Michigan.

DU, prepare yourselves. I feel MSM will hang on to, and cover, every word Trump utters after Jan. 20

73 million voted for Trump, so they'll rationalize there's a sizeable audience out there who still wants to hear from him. Plus, Jan. 21 starts the countdown to 2024 (which most here agree is a grift and won't happen in the end for a host of reasons). More horse race. More airtime with talking heads disecting all of it. More viewers glued. More ad revenue. It never ends.

Trump is like crack to them. Plus, until he is put in the ground, he...just...won't...shut...up. Even if NY charges come to pass (I'm convinced he will weasel out of Federal charges), he'll be right back in the headlines. Didn't Trump once say that any publicity is good publicity?

It'll take the powers of Zen to tune him out.

Hope I'm wrong and his LACK of coverage sends him to total irrelevancy.

Trump: Fake it until you make it.

Bluster and bullshit have carried him this far. Why stop now?

His psychopathic nature will not allow him to surrender an inch. Only the weight of reality will eventually crush him. And even then, he'll think he has a bargaining chip, perpetuating the cycle that he wins even when he looses. On to the next grift.

I have no doubt that he's going to try and take this to the max. In his mind, there's always another way out. One more play to slip by.

He simply can't afford to NOT be President.

Well, the resistance have a say in that.
