KY_EnviroGuy's JournalTrump delivers a sextuple (or more) whammy to farmers.
* Chinese retaliatory import duty on soybeans, ethanol and pork.
* Farm equipment and machinery prices rising due to steel tariffs.
* Healthcare costs rising and will get worse, and many rural clinics are closing.
* In time, their taxes will go up substantially due to the Repug's tax bill.
* Farm worker costs will go up due to loss of immigrant labor.
* Borrowing costs may go up further, as FED raises rates.
(I'm sure several more can be added)
But man, how they love those MAGA ball caps..............
The irony.
I'm sure the residents in that area have been terrorized by this event, and are probably now watching their neighbors with a suspicious eye.
But, this guy will probably never have the label terrorist attached to him. If he was dark skinned, an immigrant, a Muslim or even atheist, he would have terrorist on his gravestone.
What we all need is good listeners....
and they're few and far between.
Thanks for your post, Steve. It got me thinking about my depression (treatment resistant) and you're right that we are still in the dark ages on this issue. And, most of the shrinks are nothing but pill pushers.
I am glad to see this get more into the sunshine, although I fear we will continue to be pushed into the margins of society and kept closeted.
The internet can be a double-edged sword for depression sufferers: it is an excellent source of valid info if we seek it in the right places, however it can be a disaster if we allow ourselves to become closeted within in it socially, as a means of escape. I'm working on that one now!

Here's the really stupid part.
Trump's minions act as if they believe anything he said on the campaign trail could be implemented by the executive. He in turn worsened those beliefs by showing his ass with his trite executive order signings.
Apparently, they are not aware we have government with three counter-balancing branches.
..........
All part of the master plan from Koch, Mercer, Peterson, Murdoch, etc.
The ultimate purpose is to demean and degrade any professionalism previously seen in our government, thereby decreasing our people's trust and dependence on government. All a part of "drowning it in a bathtub".
De-fund, degrade, demean, disassociate, then destroy.
What about if they grow a heart and invest that trillion into education.
Oh wait...that would be the wise, compassionate, long-term, minimal return thing to do.
I hear crickets from Wall Street.
......... ...........
Violence and conflict as entertainment is THE problem.
Guns are a convenient accessory to the fact.
..............
No surprise to me.
Koch Industries uses massive amounts of unfinished steel (via other manufacturers) for rail cars and pipe for transporting oil and refined chemicals. Sheet steel is also used to make the pressure and storage vessels in their refineries and liquid product storage yards. The same is true for paper mills.
So, I'm guessing the tariffs would increase their operating and capital investment costs substantially.
Thanks, H2O Man for creating a good review.
Most of us raised in the gentle country simply can't perceive people like tRump existing, much less elected to public office. Therefore, people like us study to try and understand "what the hell is this THING?".
We all know he exhibits symptoms of psychopathy, but his ego goes far beyond that characteristic. I found this article in Raw Story (originally from AlterNet) quite interesting:
The psychological condition that really explains Donald Trumps twisted worldview

It's all about "wins" and he can't stand to lose or "not win", as proven by his actions. He does not seem to care if an action is or is not the right thing to do, but if it's popular with his base and/or creates new chaos, then it's a win on his brain's scoreboard.
"Demand For Oncologists Skyrockets" will be putting it mildly..
Many tRump administration policies and executive actions will worsen cancer rates in this country.
Promoting coal and weakening the EPA, weakening of worker health and safety regs, poor support for education in general, refusing to hold corporations accountable for anything....this list goes on and on.
All those massive tax breaks for corporations and the wealthy? IMO, rates should have increased instead, and much of the new revenue put into education.
