Barbara Boxer launches super PAC attack on Issa

OAKLAND, Calif. — Just months after retiring from Congress, former California Sen. Barbara Boxer has already raised more than $1.3 million for a new super PAC aimed at helping Democrats regain control of Congress in the 2018 elections. And on Wednesday, she launches her first salvo — a blistering attack ad targeting GOP Rep. Darrell Issa, considered the most vulnerable House member in California.

The ad from Boxer’s PAC for a Change is the first in a new “Resist and Replace” campaign which the ex-senator promises will relentlessly target California Republicans who have been “cowering in the corner” as President Donald Trump attempts to dismantle programs such as the Affordable Care Act.

Hundreds of thousands of women will be sexually assaulted or raped this year.

Millions of women will be physically assaulted in domestic settings. Women will on average get paid less than men. Be slut shamed as their male counterparts are referred to as studs. Deal with demeaning cat-calls and gender specific insults. Forced to live as less than equal under religious rule. Be without equal representation.

The list goes on.

And you want me to listen to your pet peeve over an individual feminist you have a problem with?

Great job kicking ass on that one over the weekend, DU. I really mean that. Very few fell for the ignorant bullshit.

One of my neighbors had an eclipse party.

All houses in the neighborhood got a flier on the door about the party. I was not able to go but my wife just sent me a text about it. Said she met neighbors she had never even seen from our own neighborhood. The neighbor holding the party had glasses for everyone. The party was full of energy, conversation, and excitement. This is in an area where it wasn't even close to a full eclipse.

My wife walks our dog up and down the street multiple times a day, always talking to neighbors She thinks she has made some new friends.

I was somewhat ambivalent about the eclipse. Now I think it was nothing but one big win. Ohhh, and Trump looked like an idiot again.

Confirmed: White Nationalists, White Supremacists, and Klansmen are as tough as they come.

Online. A few crying snowflakes being the exception.

The wake-up call they have received after deciding to leave their home's has been brutal.

They have now left the sunlight in retreat, for the most part. They are still there in the same numbers, just back to doing what they do best, being internet tough guys.

"If you dont believe me, just ask Barack Obama."

Trooper in famous photo just wished he were somewhere else

Trooper Allen Campbell wasn’t thinking deep thoughts about race relations when he peered down at the small child in front of him, providing photographer Todd Robertson with the subject matter for a photograph that has become an iconic image of American race relations since Robertson pushed the shutter on that Labor Day weekend in 1992.

Robertson’s photo shows a small boy dressed up in a miniature Ku Klux Klan robe and reaching out in fascination to touch his own reflection in Georgia State Patrol trooper Campbell’s shiny riot shield.

Campbell, 61, didn’t think much about the irony of the situation, he said in an interview with reporters Tuesday at Gainesville’s State Patrol Post 6.

“I didn’t even see the kid. I was just looking down to see what was bumping on my shield. And when I looked down, there was this little kid in a Klan uniform. He saw his reflection in the riot shield. He was tracing his outline,” said Campbell, who met photographer Robertson for the first time Tuesday.

Trump's lawyer threatens to lodge a complaint against special counsel Mueller if he investigates....

Trump's real estate deals

President Donald Trump's lawyer, Jay Sekulow, told The New Yorker this week that the president's legal team would consider it out of bounds for special counsel Robert Mueller to investigate a business deal Trump pursued in Georgia six years ago with a Kazhak oligarch who has direct links to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"The Georgia real-estate deal is something we would consider out of scope," Sekulow told the publication. "Georgia is not Russia."

He noted that he would raise the issue with Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein if he sensed Mueller "drifting" outside the question of whether there was "coordination between the Russian government and people on the Trump campaign."

"I want to be really specific," Sekulow said. "A real-estate deal would be outside the scope of legitimate inquiry."
