Ferrets are Cool
Ferrets are Cool's JournalEvery time Lucy Carlyle (Ruby Stokes) of Lockwood and Co is shown on the screen
All I see is a young Greg Lake (ELP).
I loathe that I phone, T mobile commercial
where the lady runs down the line of people, FILMING her son running a race. It is so disrespectful of all the other people and I would have laughed out loud if someone had tripped her.
What is THE question that could be asked
of a pastor on Sunday, in the middle of the congregation, that would cause him/her to stutter and be unable to give an answer?
This one is kinda weak, but how about, "If god is all powerful, why does he need OUR hard earned money?" Or maybe more to the point, "If god is all powerful, why does he need YOU to tell us about him? Why can't he do it himself?"
Or, "Why did god have to murder millions of children with the flood to prove a point?"
There are hundreds of questions that have no answers other than "faith". What would yours be?
The Peripheral..while it didn't grade great with the critics, I enjoyed the hell out of it.
It is an 8 episode sci-fi dystopian future type, time travel adventure that I can really sink my teeth into. I "could" have easily sat down and binged all 8 ep's in one sitting, but instead chose to string it out as much as possible, knowing it would end all too soon. The cinematography is top-notch and visually stunning at times. Lead actress, Chloë Grace Moretz (Flynne) is fantastic in the role and there are characters that you can honestly care about. The finale's cliffhanger makes one HOPE for a next season.
Highly recommended.
Streaming on Amazon Prime.
What would the flat 30% "consumption tax" do to people on Social Security?
Would they be exempt OR would it hit them very hard? From what I can find, they would be on the short end of this fiasco.
I know it will not pass in the foreseeable future, but I also didn't think ROE would ever be overturned.
Neil deGrasse Tyson. I was cruising around YouTube last nite and found an interesting
piece which contained this musing by Tyson. To paraphrase, he said, Intelligence is just the thing you want IF you intend to render yourself extinct. I found that so profound.
I couldn't find the exact quote this morning, but I did find something from him that meshed into that thought.
Neil deGrasse Tyson "I think that intelligence is such a narrow branch of the tree of life - this branch of primates we call humans. No other animal, by our definition, can be considered intelligent. So intelligence can't be all that important for survival, because there are so many animals that don't have what we call intelligence, and they're surviving just fine."
I am constantly reminded that we are actively causing the extinction of so many species on this ball we call Earth. WHY? IMO, in my mind, it is because we are imbued with intelligence. To me, that is the penultimate irony.
The most depressing thing I do every week is go to the grocery store.
I know I should consider myself blessed, but DAYUM!!!! As a child of the 70's, I unfortunately remember the prices that we paid for consumables during that period.
I understand the price of eggs...they are having some issues with avian flu. But how do you explain the price of a 2 liter bottle of Coke going for 1.48 to 2.68 in one year? Has the price of water gone up that much. I know, I know....diesel prices....but then you look at a box of Great Value Mac and Cheese at .43 a carton and you just have to wonder if it is all based on GREED.
I do not understand how family's with at bunch of kids manages. Hell, it's just the two of us here and I don't even want to know how much we spend on groceries every month (it would scare me). It's not unusual to see a buggy in front of me check out and end up paying 4-500 dollars.
Yes, it's depressing and I don't see an end to it. I'm 66 years old and other than gas, I've seldom see prices come down once they go UP.
I received my first hearing aids yesterday...
it wasn't as though I was very hard of hearing, but rather that I was losing it more quickly than the Dr anticipated. And, he assured me that it would help me with my tinnitus.
I could not be happier with them. When I got home, wifey couldn't even tell that I had them on/in.
As far as what I am hearing...things I haven't heard in 40 years. Things that I didn't even know I was missing.
Were they expensive, yes. Am I so glad I could afford them? Yes.
Am I glad I made this decision. YES!!
Anyone else get the feeling that the TB secondary
Isn't even trying? I know they are, but DAYUM!!!
