Humans are the ONLY one of those 8,700,000 that is willfully destroying it's habitat...ie the Earth.
The other 8 millions species could live just fine on Earth without us as they have for millions of years, but WE, as the intelligent species are intent on destroying ALL the rest, including ourselves.

I think I've had an epiphany concerning my ADD

As I've gotten older, especially the last few years, I find it much more difficult to do ONE thing at a time. I used to be able to sit in the theater room for hours, listening to music or watching the extended version of The Fellowship of the Ring, but it is so difficult to do those things any longer. I feel like I NEED to be doing something more. These days, my viewing or listening is chopped into smaller blocks....30 minute anime episodes or 20 minutes of listening to Chicago II before moving on to something else.
And if I do watch or listen to something longer, I feel the need to research something on my phone or check DU.

I have come to believe that this is because I am getting much older...much, much older. I think my brain figures it must cram as much stimuli in as possible because time is running out.

Anyone else feel this way or constantly need to be doing "more"?

Know anything about APK's?

I just moved to Directv Stream because satellite prices have gone through the roof. I can save $100 a month by migrating to streaming.
Here is the issue...I use Nvidia Shields as my streaming boxes because they are head and shoulders the best boxes one can purchase. Directv, however, does not support them, even though they say they do. I know...I asked explicitly before I decided to make this move.

I have researched this thoroughly and it seems you can download an APK and make the Shields work with Directv Streaming, but for the life of me, I can't get it to work.

Does anyone have any experience with using APK's on your streaming service?

* btw, before I found out that Directv does not support Nvidia Shield or Fire Sticks, I spent an hour on the phone with customer service, expert team, to figure out the problem...they NEVER told me that it was not supported, but instead gave me a workaround that lasted about 10 mins, then reverted to the original problem.

Gas prices here have gone down .25+ since midterms...

Funeral expenses. Please help if possible.

OK, I wasn't sure where to put this question out. If this isn't the place just let me know.

Wifeys medical bills are piling up. Her upcoming bone marrow transplant will probably wipe our savings out. The possibility of her not making it through the procedure has been weighing heavy on her mind, and she certainly doesn't need anything else to worry about.
She wants to help me if the worst comes about and get her funeral and burial plan in place.

After making a few calls, it was was determined that it will cost over 20K.

So, here is my question. Is there a way to get burial insurance from a reputable company?
And, I will listen to any other advice.

Edited to add that she will not consider cremation. I have no problem with it and it is how I will have things done, but she will not.

Wifey just showed me the drug bills for THIS year to treat her MDS

So far the costs have been 32K, with insurance picking up all but 9,000 of it. Thank goodness for that, but I still have to think of those developed countries without a For Profit Health Industry. We, as a country, should be doing so much better.
