Kotaro Lives Alone is a short (10 ep) series on Netflix that follows the daily life of a kindergartner who lives alone in an apartment complex. It delves into why he is living alone and how he is handling the situation. Kotaro is very mature for his age and is one of the more observant individuals I've seen in anime.
One of the huge take-aways from this anime is the commentary on the adults in the series. In fact, this anime is more about adulthood than it is about being 5 years old.
If you like anime, this one is worth the watch.

It is my feeling that they have only begun to shove authoritarianism down our throats. They have a taste for it now and like sharks that sense blood in the water, will rush forward to enact even more draconian legislation on us.

I wish people could see this for what it is, a move towards an authoritarian state. It scares me very much.

A short while after it aired, I began watching Deadwood. I LOVE the series. It is one of the best acted and written series that I've ever seen. That viewpoint has not wavered.
The first time I viewed it, I was uncomfortable with "how" human beings were treated by those in power. I was disturbed with how little a human life was worth. This hasn't changed.
What HAS changed is that I can no longer watch Deadwood. I cannot watch while women are being abused. I cannot watch while people are being killed for NO reason at all. I can no longer watch while lives are being changed forever for money.

Maybe I have evolved or it could be that I am just less tolerant. I do not know for sure.
