Troy Davis was executed by the state of Georgia 8 years ago last night

I still think he may have been innocent. Here are his last words:

"Well, first of all I'd like to address the MacPhail family. I'd like to let you all know, despite the situation – I know all of you are still convinced that I'm the person that killed your father, your son and your brother, but I am innocent. The incident that happened that night was not my fault. I did not have a gun that night. I did not shoot your family member. But I am so sorry for your loss. I really am – sincerely. All I can ask is that each of you look deeper into this case, so that you really will finally see the truth. I ask my family and friends that you all continue to pray, that you all continue to forgive. Continue to fight this fight. For those about to take my life, may God have mercy on all of your souls. God bless you all."

Have a question about Medicare for all

Right now I'm making under $40,000 a year. Healthcare for me would be roughly $320 a month, with the ACA, and that's just basic coverage. It still costs money to get sick.

So, it if were repealed and replaced by Medicare for all, would it be completely free for myself and others in my income range? Would medicine cost $1?

NOAA backs Trump on Alabama hurricane forecast, rebukes Weather Service for accurately contradicting

Source: The Washington Post

The federal agency that oversees the National Weather Service has sided with President Trump over its own scientists in the ongoing controversy over whether Alabama was at risk of a direct hit from Hurricane Dorian.

In a statement released Friday afternoon, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) stated Alabama was in fact threatened by the storm at the time Trump tweeted Alabama would “most likely be hit (much) harder than anticipated.”

Referencing archived hurricane advisories, the NOAA statement said that information provided to the president and the public between Aug. 28 and Sept. 2 “demonstrated that tropical-storm-force winds from Hurricane Dorian could impact Alabama."

In an unusual move, the statement also admonished its National Weather Service office in Birmingham, Ala., which had released a tweet contradicting Trump’s claim and stating, “Alabama will NOT see any impacts from #Dorian.”

Will our VP pick be someone that's running for President now?

History says no. Let's see some recent races:

2016: Clinton picked Tim Kaine and Trump picked Mike Pence. Both not running that year.

2012: Romney picked Paul Ryan. Not running.

2008: Obama picked Joe Biden and McCain picked Sarah Palin. Biden was running that year.

2004: Kerry picked John Edwards. He was running that year.

2000: Bush picked Dick Cheney and Gore picked Joe Liberman. Both not running.

1996: Dole picked Jack Kemp. Not running (although he did in in 1988, but I'm counting same election only).

1992: Clinton picks Al Gore. Not running (he did in 1988).

1988: Dukakis picks Lloyd Bentsen. Not running (although he did in 1976)

1984: Mondale picks Geraldine Ferraro. Not running.

So in the past 35 years, between both Parties it's happened only twice and back to back by us, in 2004 and 2008. Will it happen again in 2020?

Jeffrey Epstein hung painting of Bill Clinton in drag in his home

(JTA) — Jeffrey Epstein had an oil painting of former President Bill Clinton dressed in drag prominently displayed in his Manhattan townhouse.

The Daily Mail reported Wednesday that the painting featured the former American leader lounging in a blue dress in the Oval Office. A blue dress played a prominent role in Clinton’s own sex scandal — his affair with White House intern Monica Lewinsky. The painting was identified as “Parsing Bill” by artist Petrina Ryan-Kleid.

Epstein, a Jewish financier, hanged himself in a New York jail over the weekend while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.

Clinton and Epstein had numerous contacts over the years, with the former president even riding on Epstein’s private plane on more than one occasion.

Don't look too deep into this. Perhaps he hung it up to mock Clinton because he refused his offers?

Why wasn't there a camera pointed in Epstein's cell?

This would prove one way or another if he killed himself or not.

Ocasio-Cortez demands 'answers' after Epstein found dead in jail cell

New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D) led public calls Saturday demanding answers after disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein was found dead in his Manhattan jail cell due to an apparent suicide.

“We need answers. Lots of them,” Ocasio-Cortez, a member of the House Oversight and Reform Committee, tweeted.

VERTISEMENT
Multiple media outlets reported Saturday that Epstein's body was discovered in his jail cell about 7:30 a.m. at the Metropolitan Correctional Center (MCC).

Many immediately began questioning the details surrounding his death after Epstein was reportedly put on suicide watch in late July following a possible suicide attempt.

I trust AOC much more on this than any man. Why? Because Epstein was so powerful that any rich man could be potentially connected to him.

New York State Rifle & Pistol Association Inc. v. City of New York, New York

This is a major case coming up next term at the SCOTUS. How do you think it'll be decided?

July 31, 2019

I don't want July to end

It's by far my favorite month. August is too close to September, and I hate the Fall.
