Any updates coming soon for California 13th?

It's one of the last two uncalled House races (the other being Lauren Boebert's seat).

Kevin Kiley, backed by Donald Trump, heading to Congress as he defeats Kermit Jones

Source: The Sacramento Bee

Republican Kevin Kiley, a conservative firebrand supported by former President Donald Trump, topped Democrat Kermit Jones to win the new 3rd Congressional District seat, according to an Associated Press projection.

With 84% of the vote counted as of Tuesday afternoon, Kiley had about 53% to Jones’ 47%.

Kiley will represent the newly drawn 3rd District, which stretches 450 miles from Plumas County, through the Sacramento suburbs and parts of El Dorado County, and south to Inyo County.

While independent analysts had seen the race as a likely Republican win, the Kiley-Jones clash became a classic Republican vs. Democratic battle.

CBS News resumes Twitter activity after brief halt over Musk concerns

Source: The Hill

CBS News announced on Sunday it will resume its Twitter activity after halting it for part of the weekend to assess “uncertainty” under new CEO Elon Musk.

“After pausing for much of the weekend to assess the security concerns, CBS News and Stations is resuming its activity on Twitter as we continue to monitor the situation,” the network wrote on the platform.

The network’s various accounts stopped posting tweets late on Friday, hours after Musk’s deadline for employees to either commit to a “hardcore” work environment or accept severance and leave the company.

The ultimatum led an estimated 1,200 employees to depart on Thursday, according to The New York Times, which came after Musk laid off about half of Twitter’s workforce, which included roughly 7,500 employees when he formally took over the company.

Wow, that was fast...

What's going on with the uncalled House races?

I know about Boebert/Frisch in CO-03 (recount) and Peltola/Palin in Alaska (which we'll win easily), but what about the rest? Any even small updates? Why do some sites say that Republicans have 218 while others say 219?

What are some great sites for updated results and info?

Joe Biden celebrates his 80th birthday

Source: CNN

President Joe Biden turns 80 years old on Sunday, becoming the first octogenarian to ever serve in the highest office of the United States.

The unique milestone of Biden’s birthday comes as the president faces speculation about whether he will mount a reelection run and dredges up questions about whether he’s too old to serve another term.

The president is celebrating his birthday in Washington with a brunch hosted by first lady Jill Biden, according to White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre. Members of Biden’s family already in town celebrating his granddaughter’s wedding at the White House on Saturday are expected to be in attendance.

The president has political momentum on his side ahead of a potential reelection bid – having been able to maintain a Democratic majority in the Senate and thwart the historical political tides of a resounding Republican wave in Congress. There was also the lukewarm political support his slightly younger predecessor, Donald Trump, received when he announced his recent decision to run for president in 2024.

Happy birthday to you, Mr. President!

What if Trump (if he's the nominee) is arrested 10 days before Election 2024?

Will it hurt or help him?
