To a president without any external ethical framework, folks who resign on principle must be confusing.

Simcha Rotem, who went by the nom-de-guerre Kazik, served in the Jewish Fighting Organisation that staged the uprising as the Nazis conducted mass deportations of residents to the death camps.
“This evening, we part from… Simcha Rotem, the last of the Warsaw Ghetto fighters,” Israel’s President Reuven Rivlin said in a statement.

“He joined the uprising and helped save dozens of fighters”.

Hundreds of Jewish fighters began their fight on April 19, 1943, after the Nazis began deporting the surviving residents of the Jewish ghetto they had set up after invading Poland.

The insurgents preferred to die fighting instead of in a gas chamber at the Treblinka death camp where the Nazis had already sent more than 300,000 Warsaw Jews.

Speaking at a 2013 ceremony in Poland to mark the 70th anniversary of the uprising, Rotem recalled that by April 1943 most of the ghetto’s Jews had died and the 50,000 who remained expected the same fate.

Rotem said he and his comrades launched the uprising to “choose the kind of death” they wanted.

“I figured since he’s already helping me run the country, maybe Vladimir would like to take over at Secretary of Defense,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office this morning. “He can use the same office he’s got now.”

While it’s unclear if the Senate would confirm Mr. Putin as Secretary of Defense, reportedly Trump is unconcerned.

“When have I have worried about what anyone wants besides me,” Trump asked rhetorically. “Besides, we can just have Mitch go triple nuclear and dissolve the entire Senate. Hell, he can just make me the Senate. I AM THE SENATE!”

President Trump believes that Putin is “the only man” for the job.

“He already knows his way around the White House and, I think, frankly, Vladimir is the only man for the job,” Trump explained, “mostly because he told me he’s the only man for the job. Who am I to go against him, anyway? He’s an actual president, guys.”

Nearly 800,000 people could lose their access to food stamps if US president Donald Trump gets his way. And many of them will be single, white men.

“Today, at the direction of President Donald J. Trump, we are taking steps to restore integrity to SNAP and move people toward self-sufficiency,” US Department of Agriculture chief Sonny Perdue said in a press release issued Thursday.

The USDA’s proposal, if it is implemented after a 60-day comment period, would tighten those restrictions, requiring that the local unemployment rise above 7% before the 20% provision is triggered. Of the roughly 2.8 million ABAWDs in the US, about 755,000 are not currently working and under the new rule would lose their SNAP benefits, which come to approximately $5 a day.

What Trump may not realize is that ABAWDs tend to match the profile of his core constituency. According to data from the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, a Washington DC think tank, 55% of low-income ABAWDs are male, and 48% are white. (Given the millions of women with children who are also in the program, men make up only 38% of adult SNAP participants overall.)

He never promised I’ll build the wall and U.S. Taxpayers are going to pay for it and Democrats will vote for it. That wasn’t the campaign promise. That wasn’t even what he said he could do.”
