This morning Trump tweeted ‘you start looting we start shooting’ – and with this he played straight into one of the white privileged instincts of the out of control looting ‘scary black folks’ coming to get them, and that only he can save them from such a terrible fate. When he says that the DoJ and the FBI are going to get to the bottom of the murder of George Floyd it is the exact opposite of what he wants. He will use those tools at his disposal to delay any kind of investigation or sense of justice being delivered. You can see that from the press conference yesterday which did not give any concrete actions and had an utter lack of urgency surrounding it, even as Minneapolis burns. If he can he will play this straight through to November. He cannot use Covid-19 as a re-election tool, he cannot use the economy as a re-election tool. BUT he can and most assuredly will try stoke up a race war. Vote for me to save you from the ‘scary black man’ bogey. He will do this irrespective of the deepening divisions that have been cratered by his administration because at heart he really is a white supremacist for whom black lives really do not matter, and he knows for part of America, this is also a fundamental truth.
This is going to be a bumpy ride.

I think I know what you're feeling. You feel like you're being sucked into a black hole in the middle of your chest. It's suffocating. Your heart is broken. There's nothing but a feeling of emptiness right now. For most of you, you weren't able to be there when you lost your beloved family member or best friend. For most of you, you were unable to be there when they died alone.
With the pain, the anger, and the frustration you'll wonder whether or not you'll ever be able to get anywhere from here. It's made all the worse by knowing that this is a fateful milestone we should have never reached. It could have been avoided according to a study done by Columbia University, if the administration had acted just one week earlier to implement social distancing and do what it had to do. Just one week sooner as many as 36,000 of these deaths might have been averted.
To all of you who are hurting so badly, I'm so sorry for your loss. I know there's nothing I or anyone else can say or do to dull the sharpness of the pain you feel right now. But I can promise you from experience, the day will come when the memory of your loved one will bring a smile to your lips before it brings a tear to your eyes. My prayer for all of you is that they will come sooner rather than later. But I promise you it will come, and when it does you know you can make it.
God bless each and every one of you and the blessed memory of the one you lost. This nation grieves with you. Take some solace from the fact that we all grieve with you.

There is no grey. There are facts and there is lying bullshit and the minute only one of his lies gets called out he goes all in on the silencing conservative conspiracy theory cause liberal deep state and using the power of the office of the President to do so. But then he has to. His entire Presidency is built on lies, dissembling and the big con. No lie too brazen, no policy too craven and no grift too audacious for this administration. How many lies do you want? How many versions of those lies? Trump has used social media to spout an endless stream of shite for years because, the distraction tactics of bullshit, bollocks and chaos is the point. If his propaganda machine does not work for him anymore of course he is going to try and break it, it is what all strongmen do. Speaking to News Channel 8, the pastor of Allendale United Methodist Church said that Floyd “should be alive today.”
“I immediately came out here to change our sign to remind St. Petersburg that a man named George Floyd was lynched yesterday by the police and this will continue until we stand up as a community, as people who look like me, white people, allies, stand up to demand that this type of police brutality stops,” Rev. Andy Oliver said.
