He is right, this is a war. And Trump has to be made aware that breaking the law and the Constitution into pieces is not something America will stand for. So as the Senate buggers off for a do nothing holiday until at least Labour Day, other political agency must be deployed. If the normal checks and balances are screaming at the edges, new checks and balances must be brought into play at this very dangerous time not only for American Democracy but global stability.

Do you think Republicans have always wanted to live in a totalitarian state? Have they sold their soul to the devil because of their desire to be bullied and cowed by an idiot, for life? Their behaviour would certainly seem to suggest so. Matt Lewis noted in his column in the Daily Beast it is easy to see a scenario whereby ‘Trump’s attorney general casting aspersions on any ballots that aren’t counted on Election Day and issuing a report declaring Trump the victor. If that happens, I’m 100 percent confident the brave Republicans in the U.S. Senate will stand up to Trump. (‘Uh, we’re gonna have to wait and see,’ said sycophantic Senator X, ‘but it does look like Democrats are trying to overturn the results of a fair election.)”

You could literally see them supporting him as he tries to steal an election which we all know would result in him setting himself up for a life in the WH and a dynastic inheritance for his horrid children. America will become the largest Banana Republic in the world if republicans enable him to remain in power if he gets the spanking at the election we all expect. They knew what he was when they lied and protested his innocence at impeachment – at great risk to the Union - and one can only suggest that they are him. The lies. The deceit. The ignorance. The arrogance. The racism. The misogyny. Such obnoxious, crude, narcissistic and selfish behaviour for power for powers sake. They are all guilty of it. They have already given up on the American Experiment for power and for Daddy Trump to be dear leader for life…

M. Scott Peck once said "I have learned nothing in twenty years that would suggest that evil people can be rapidly influenced by any means other than raw power. They do not respond, at least in the short run, to either gentle kindness or any form of spiritual persuasion with which I am familiar." Exactly this. They need to be routed up and down ticket so they have no power left to support the sociopath who is blatantly trying to steal an election because he knows that it is extremely unlikely for him to win any other way.



(Oh and just as an aside Pompeo condemning the election in Belarus while he continues to lie and deceive on behalf of a president would do the exact same thing given half a chance is all of the ironies.)
