Hyde gives 56K to Trump & Republicans but owes child support to his 13 yr old son

[link:https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/elections-2020/conn-candidate-who-deleted-sexist-tweet-about-kamala-harris-owes-child-support-but-gives-big-to-trump-and-gop/ar-BBYaX6L|

Conn. candidate who deleted sexist tweet about Kamala Harris owes child support but gives big to Trump and GOP

HARTFORD, Conn. — Robert F. Hyde, the Republican candidate for Congress whose sexually suggestive tweet about Kamala Harris drew widespread condemnation from leaders of both political parties, owes the mother of his 13-year-old son more than $2,000 in child support, according to court records, even as he has continued to make donations to President Donald Trump and the Republican National Committee.

Morin said she was struck by the difference between Hyde’s public persona as a political figure and his abdication of personal responsibility regarding his teenage son.
“He can’t even afford $100 a week in child support but he’s golfing with Trump,” Morin said. She produced a photo from Hyde’s Facebook page showing him beaming as he stood next to Eric Trump at Trump National Golf Club Bedminster in New Jersey. The same photo was posted to Hyde’s campaign Instagram page.

The court case between Morin and Hyde has been going on for years, she said. “We’re going back and forth and he’s stating he’s unemployed and can’t afford child support,” she said.
Hyde broke off their relationship in 2006, after he learned Morin was pregnant, she said. Since then Hyde has had sporadic contact with his son, and “there have been years during which there was no contact at all,” according to an April 2018 ruling issued by Judge Kari A. Dooley.

Morin, who drives a school bus for a living and earns less than $400 per week, sought additional child support and the court agreed, ordering Hyde to pay $300 per week as of Jan. 1, 2018. Hyde was also ordered to pay $4,000 in Morin’s attorney fees. The court rejected Hyde’s request for custody, granting him visitation rights only at the discretion of Morin.
In the court filings, Hyde said he could not afford to pay the court-ordered $300 a week in child support.
On Nov. 4, the family support magistrate in Torrington issued a temporary order for Hyde allowing him to pay $94 per week in child support, as well as weekly assessment of $14 to make up the $2,500 he owes Morin. The case was continued until Jan. 13.

Its really ironic that Trump almost started a war claiming to defend the life of an immigrant

Not only an immigrant - a Muslim - Trump and his MAGATS don't give a rat's ass about Mr. Hamid

So after wanting to ban muslims, refugees, immigrants. Trump wants us to believe that he wanted to defend the life of one? Mr. Hamid became a naturalized citizen.

[link:https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2020-01-09/sacramento-contractor-whose-death-sparked-iran-us-conflict-mourned|
In a statement, U.S. Rep. Doris Matsui (D-Sacramento) said she was heartbroken over news of Hamid’s death.

“Our U.S. military has relied on the expertise and professionalism of linguists in almost every mission around the globe, especially in Iraq,” she said. “Nawres served and sacrificed for our nation, and we all owe him a debt of gratitude. My thoughts and prayers are with Nawres’ widow and children at this time.”

Hamid’s family belongs to a growing community of Iraqi immigrants in Sacramento and across California. Hamid’s widow told the Sacramento Bee that they came to the U.S. in 2011, when she was pregnant with their eldest son.

More than 10,000 Iraqi refugees settled in the state during the eight-year period from 2008 to 2016, the majority of them in Sacramento and San Diego. But the migration rate has slowed as the Trump administration tightened its restrictions on refugee admissions.

Donald Trump gets impeached--63 Canadians die

This is an excellent read! Worth going to the link and reading the entire article. The writer has a follow up. He never expected this opinion piece to go viral. I will post the follow up.

Donald Trump gets impeached—63 Canadians die
Scott Gilmore:
There are effects of the Trump presidency. Some will be felt in the decades to come, others are immediate and tragic.

Every action has consequences. It’s one of the first things our parents teach us when we’re young. Often, the consequences aren’t immediate or obvious. And, often, they set in motion a chain of actions and reactions that go places, sometimes tragic places we could never predict.

Consider this. On Dec. 18, the U.S. House of Representatives impeaches the 45th President of the United States, Donald Trump.
President Trump then spends days exclaiming his outrage, claiming to have been unfairly treated, and repeatedly pointing to the economy and America’s military strength as evidence he is a great president, “the best President ever.”
In a Christmas call from his Mar-A-Lago resort in Florida to troops in Iraq, Trump complains bitterly about the impeachment and claims he has been treated “worse than anybody has been treated, from a legal standpoint, in the history of the United States.”

Then, on Dec. 27, while the president is still in Florida, a rocket attack hits an Iraqi military base in Kirkuk. It kills an American contractor, Nawres Hamid. U.S. officials blame Kataib Hezbollah, an Iran-backed militia.
In retaliation, Trump authorizes what the U.S. describes as “defensive” retaliatory strikes against the militia. These kill 25, including four commanders. An eye for an eye for 50 eyes.

This draws immediate comparisons to the 2012 Benghazi attack that killed four Americans and became a Republican rallying cry against Hillary Clinton and the Democrats for the next four years.
Trump, sensitive to the comparison, immediately gets on Twitter and promises that Iran will be held responsible, adding, “This is not a Warning, it is a Threat. Happy New Year!”

Damn! How long before Tucker is made to heel? Tucker Slams Soleimani Intel:

Tucker Slams Soleimani Intel: Now We Trust the Deep State?
[link:https://www.thedailybeast.com/tucker-carlson-slams-soleimani-intel-and-asks-now-we-trust-the-deep-state?ref=home|

“What’s striking is how many people are willing to accept this uncritically,” Carlson added. “Just the other day, you remember, our intel agencies were considered politically tainted and suspect. Certainly on this show they are, were, and will be for quite some time.”

He went on to accuse the intel community of pretending that President Donald Trump “was a Russian spy” before pointing out that it was faulty intelligence on nonexistent weapons of mass destruction that led the United States into the Iraq War.

“People pushing conflict with Iran are the same people who did that,” the conservative host declared. “It seems like about 20 minutes ago we were denouncing these very people as the ‘deep state’ and pledging to never trust them again without verification. But now, for some reason, we do seem to trust them implicitly and completely.”

" God is on our side" - Trump told this to his evangelical audience

This is so damn creepy beyond words. Is God a Republican?

[link:https://www.nytimes.com/2020/01/03/us/politics/trump-miami-rally-evangelicals.html|

MIAMI — In his first public appearance since the strike that killed Maj. Gen. Qassim Suleimani of Iran, President Trump rallied his evangelical Christian base of supporters on Friday, portraying himself as the restorer of faith in the public square and claiming that God is “on our side.”

This rambling speech included making fun of democrats, name calling, telling lies.

And in this same speech where he is promising tougher abortion laws- He is justifying the killing of Suleimani. Very Christ like indeed.
