The numbers of deaths seem low, but it is actually shocking.

Last week this time, there were about 20 known deaths if I am not mistaken. Today known deaths is 50. So its more than doubled in 7 days. This should be alarming to everyone. All those folks that keep saying. If you are young, you have nothing to worry about. I think this is such a wrong headed message. I am younger, my parents have underlying health conditions. Those are manageable with their current medications and they fortunately have access to good healthcare. Life is unpredictable, but I foresee them being able to live for another 15-20 yrs or longer with their current conditions. I don't want to shorten the time I have left with them. So I, a younger person am terrified of getting Covid 19 and passing it on to them. Therefore, I have decided to not visit them for a while. I work in a community mental health clinic so I see a lot of patients daily, where theoretically it is possible for me to come into contact at some point with someone that is infected.

But back to my original point, the number of deaths has more than doubled since last Saturday. That to me really stands out. If we continue doubling the death rate, we are really in trouble. Stop saying young people have nothing to worry about. We are worried about our loved ones.

If there is a silver lining in this pandemic - Its that maybe businesses and those rich folks

that loved their tax cuts - may stand to lose gains that gave them. I am not celebrating losing money, that actually has an effect on working folks if business lose money. My point, is maybe they will wake up to the reality, that you actually NEED a real functioning govt. I hate that working class people will also pay the price. But I was just thinking, Will these business folks that were voting for Trump because he was giving them what they wanted, realize now that you ACTUALLY NEED a real commander in chief that can take charge when crisis hits.
Unfortunately, this will not be our last crisis. There will be more in the future, history has shown this. These business owners should be asking themselves, even if they have no concern for working folks, are we not better off with someone that can minimize catastrophe when it hits?

What's eating America - Tonight's episode Voter Suppression

Amazing episode. I am really liking this series.
Eye opening.
Charlie Crist's revelation about getting calls from the GOP when he returned voter rights to released prisoners is eye opening. Not shocking at all though. Just more proof that Republicans will do anything and everything to keep the vote suppressed. Juxtapose what Crist did as Governor to Rick Scott. Rick Scott was returning voter rights to more whites than blacks.

Covid 19 test is $3000!! - South Korea offers free testing, WTF is wrong with America?

It was mentioned on MSNBC tonight that a man returning from overseas, I don't remember which country, one of the ones affected by covid 19. He went to get tested to make sure he did not have it and would not spread it if he did. His bill is $3000.00!!!

Meanwhile South Korea is doing free testing and has tested over 100,000 people. WTF is wrong with America?? Seriously. Why is it that other places can get these things right when it comes to healthcare and we can't?

The thought of being hit with a $3000.00 bill might stop people from getting tested.

Said by one of my clients today, my son lost a good job, it was paying $11.75 per hr

It took me a minute to absorb what she said. She then went on to say she would " kill to have a job that paid that well" .
The things that you take for granted sometimes....
I am not rich by any means, but I make a decent living. I've got a lot of student loan debt, but am still able to have a decent life and do the things I like to do without financial difficulty. I live a pretty simple life. I am not off traveling to exotic places and buying diamonds and furs and eating at expensive restaurants.
But my lifestyle is comfortable and I shop when I want, eat out when I want and plan a nice vacation for a few days at least once a year.
I cannot imagine what life is like for you financially when you think a job that pays 11.75 is a good job. I know the kind of work the client does, and its hard manual labor. Its a disgrace that we do not have at least $15 minimum wage in this country.

Alex Jones' Infowars is attempting to profit from the coronavirus outbreak

Alex Jones’ Infowars is attempting to profit from the coronavirus outbreak

Jones: “I am very sad about this virus and very sad about the bioweapons and things that are going on, but it is an opportunity for people to take advantage of the products we have”

Far-right conspiracy theory outlet Infowars has been aggressively hawking bulk food packages at inflated prices while spreading wild conspiracy theories about the coronavirus outbreak. Since December, the price of bulk food at Infowars’ online store has more than doubled with the biggest package costing nearly $3,000.

On December 31, China announced an outbreak of COVID-19, a novel coronavirus that started in Wuhan City, with the first known case dating back to December 1. The disease has since spread beyond China and is currently present in 53 countries, including the United States, and has stricken more than 83,000 people.

Infowars is selling bulk food at recently increased prices
As the virus continues to spread, and a pandemic becomes more likely, Alex Jones is using Infowars to panic his viewers while also trying to profit from them.

I guess Trump Sycophant is disqualifying for republicans because he has black friends

Republicans Are Race-Baiting a Republican

The NRSC goes after Doug Collins for the crime of hanging around Black people.
Rep. Doug Collins is a Georgia Republican, and as the ranking member on the House Judiciary Committee he was one of President Trump’s most vociferous defenders during the impeachment saga. He’s running for Senate now. Standing in his way is Sen. Kelly Loeffler, a Republican businesswoman appointed to the seat in December when her predecessor stepped down with health issues.

The two will square off in November in what has become a bitter fight pitting various factions of the Republican political machine against each other, with both sides claiming that the anti-Trump swamp is thwarting their efforts.

There’s little doubt where the National Republican Senatorial Committee stands. On Thursday the group released an ad slamming Collins for the crime of…hanging around Black people:

The charges here, if you can’t bring yourself to watch, are that Collins says he’s friends with Stacey Abrams and Hakeem Jeffries, and that he once shook Barack Obama’s hand. You don’t exactly need Bletchley Park to crack this code. The ad makes Lee Atwater look subtle.
