Shelby County District Attorney Amy Weirich Loses Re-election Bid Months After Aggressively Prosecuting Pamela Moses For Alleged Voter FraudMulroy had 56.13 percent of the vote, beating Weirich by over 15,000 votes. She has held the seat since 2011. Local community and national progressive groups wanted Weirich gone and found a challenger in Mulroy.

Weirich’s defeat comes almost six months after Moses was granted a new trial and close to four months after she declined to recharge the voting rights advocate. Moses was granted a new trial after evidence came to light that the prosecution had previously withheld, showing the probation department’s internal review of the signing of the voting restoration certificate.
Weirich insisted on prosecuting Moses despite an email outlining the probation department’s error and wrong information given. As previously reported by Bolts, Weirich became a symbol of malicious prosecution for going after Moses over a probation officer’s mistake.
Despite Moses’ sincere belief that she was eligible to vote and the complicated rules around rights restoration, Weirich pursued an aggressive prosecution to bolster conservative claims of voter fraud.

A Louisville Metro Police sergeant was shot and wounded and a woman was killed early Friday during a narcotics investigation near St. Andrews Church Road and Doss High School, according to authorities.
Officers were at an apartment on Springfield Drive about 1 a.m. Friday serving a search warrant as part of the narcotics investigation, according to Assistant Police Chief Josh Judah.
As officers arrived at and entered the residence, suspects shot at the officers, Judah said.
Sgt. Jonathan Mattingly was shot in the leg and taken to University of Louisville Hospital, where he underwent surgery and is expected to survive, LMPD officials said at a Friday afternoon press conference.
A female was shot and killed during the encounter after three LMPD officers returned fire, and a suspect was arrested at the scene, Chief Steve Conrad said. She was identified Sunday by the Jefferson County Coroner as Breonna Taylor, 26

Walker’s campaign said Wednesday that the candidate had accepted an invitation from Nexstar Media Group and other television stations to debate Warnock in Savannah on Oct. 14.

Putin weaponizing migration
Just saw a guest on The Reidout mention that Putin is weaponizing migration in Europe. Made me wonder if he had his hands in the increase in migration at the Soutern Border over the last few years. During the Obama years, border crossings decreased. This is not a pro or con border crossing argument. It just made me think, he had his hands in Brexit as much as he had his hands in the 2016 election. If he’s trying to flood migrants into European countries to destabilize Europe, who’s to say he’s not doing it here?
I don’t know what’s worse, him weaponizing real humans, or him knowing that his tactic could work due to the bigotry and white supremacy that still exists in Europe?
I do not believe anything coming from Russia
I do not believe that they are so much more adept at finding drugs that was missed at airports in other countries.
I refuse to give this corrupt government the benefit of the doubt.
Before BG, there was Marc Fogel who was sentenced to 14 years. He should be included in any swap. Before Marc, there was Naama Issachar.An American-Israeli citizen , who was sentenced to 7.5 years before she was traded for a Russian cyber criminal.
They all have almost identical situations. Somehow the Russians were able to find drugs that got missed at other airports before they arrived in Russia.
I will wait to hear BG and Marc tell their own story when they are no longer under duress. But even then, I suspect they may be prevented from telling the truth as maintaining their guilt may be a condition of the swap.
