Not this year

Fasching, Carnival, in Munich 2018
Covid has put a dent in the celebrations.

But wait! there's more

Today we go to the other side of France. Amiens, a focal point in both world wars, but
this town also has the largest Gothic Cathedral in France. It is stunning. Flamboyant Gothic built on a previous church site from 1220 to 1270.
I'm only going to post 5. If people are interested let me know and I can post more.
The last picture is a pair of carvings from the 4 scene set depicting the beheading of St. John the Baptist.
I think that is where the term 'head on a platter' came from. It is also the home of his skull.

Cassis, sunny day

Cassis is on the Mediterranean east of Marseilles and the national park there.
Found out how to resize from Flickr.
I think this is a better size for viewing.

Listening to Scholz right now (Germany)

He is really pissed off.
He said Putin lied to his face.
Also Germany is going to increase the military's budget to over 2%
of the GDP.
They will also push for faster energy independence.

More for my part to reduce the doom scroll

These 4 are from Venice 2019. We happened to be there for the boat parade the weekend before Carnival.
I have many more and video. Here are two from that parade with a jailbreak and cops in pursuit.

Something on a lighter note

Took these pictures at the harbour in Lindau on the Bodensee, Lake Constance.

Hope some of you will enjoy them.

Well that took some time

It turns out that Canada still considers me a citizen. Thanks to Covid, it took 18 months to get an answer.
Now I am a dual Canadian/US citizen living in Germany.
My attempt for permanent residency here are buried under the Covid backlog. Because of that I have to get an emergency visa extension. I need that because I will be leaving Germany, plague allowing, and would like to get back home.
Living in interesting times.
