'I will talk about it': Trump defiantly vows to discuss Jan. 6 case if slapped with a gag order

Former President Donald Trump suggested on Tuesday that he would violate any gag order preventing him from talking about special counsel Jack Smith's election interference case against him.

While speaking to a crowd of supporters in Windham, New Hampshire, Trump complained about Smith's request for a protective order. The order could prevent Trump from publicly targeting figures involved in the case.

"Crooked Joe now wants the thug prosecutor, this deranged guy, to file a court order taking away my First Amendment rights so that I can't speak," Trump told the group. "The case is a ridiculous case. It's a First Amendment case. But we don't want Trump to speak. So they want me, they take away your rights on First Amendment."

CNN reported that Taveras has met with investigators. The network said it’s unclear if he is cooperating with the investigation.

Las Vegas police, SWAT involved in possible hostage standoff with man at Caesars Palace

Source: wsaz

LAS VEGAS (KVVU/Gray News) - Law enforcement, including SWAT, responded Tuesday to an apparent hostage situation at the Caesar Palace resort, officials said.

A police spokesperson said the situation is ongoing, and a man and a woman are believed to be in one of the resort’s hotel rooms. A window to the room was broken and objects were thrown out of it, while negotiators are speaking with the man.

Police received a report of a domestic disturbance at the hotel. When they attempted to make contact with the people in the room, a man refused to open the door and said he was armed, police reported.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Bureau Commander Stephen Connell said no shots have been fired by police or the suspect at this point, police said. The floor of the hotel where the room is located has been locked down.

'Remarkable intrusion': Judge tears apart Florida's ban on gender-affirming care

A federal judge ruled Tuesday that a Florida state law that banned minors from receiving gender-affirming care was discriminatory and he blocked the state from applying it to three children whose parents sued.

The rebuke was a stinging message to Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) and Florida's Republican-controlled legislature who have made gender identity issues central to their agenda.

Legal analyst Chris Geidner revealed that U.S. District Judge Robert Hinkle ruled that the ban on gender-affirming care in Florida's S.B 254 was unconstitutional in that it was “targeted at a discrete and insular minority" and existing laws prevent such discrimination.

The ruling blocks the state from applying the ban to three minors whose parents sued the state claiming it would cause "irreparable harm" if the children couldn't continue to access treatment, Politico reported. The ruling only affects those three, but suggests others could successfully challenge it.

'Start the Kevin McCarthy death-clock' after compromise with Biden: Rick Wilson

Appearing late Saturday night on MSNBC after it was announced that Preside t Joe Biden and House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) had reached an agreement "in principle' on a budget deal, former GOP strategist Rick Wilson claimed this could be the beginning of the end for McCathy's speakership.

Sitting in on a panel with guest host Michael Steele, Wilson suggested that McCarthy's decision to compromise with the president to avoid a default that would spin the economy into chaos will not go over well with far-right members of his House caucus who could make a motion to "vacate the chair" to express their displeasure.

Asked by host Steel about what comes next, Wilson stated it was a win for the White House which will not make conservatives happy.

"Great night for Joe Biden, great night for the White House even though I think their messaging has been kind of tentative the past few weeks" the Lincoln Project founder began. "I think though we are now going to start the Kevin McCarthy death-clock. He has certainly got a very angry part of his caucus tonight who probably burning up his phone no matter how good it is for the country not to default."

Trump allies 'bracing for indictment' as special counsel wraps up Mar-a-Lago document probe: report

Special counsel Jack Smith is finished with collecting testimony and other evidence in his investigation into Donald Trump's classified documents taken to Mar-a-Lago, according to a report.

Reporting Tuesday, the Wall Street Journal revealed that those close to the former president are "bracing for his indictment" and are searching for ways "to fundraise off a prosecution."

On Monday, the New York Times reported that the Justice Department had subpoenaed financial documents from seven of Trump's overseas companies in conjunction with the documents probe.

Over the course of the investigation, Mar-a-Lago staff, Trump aides and lawyers have been called to testify before the grand jury. A number of the interviews have come in recent weeks as the probe comes to a close.

Lauren Boebert shuts down rumor of romance with right-wing musician

News that Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Co.) filed to divorce her husband of nearly 20 years has fueled rumors about her love life, and the far-right congresswoman shot down one of them on Monday..

Boebert told The Daily Beast that rumors linking her romantically to right-wing recording artist and pastor Sean Feucht are untrue.

“How can I be with a man with better hair than me?” she joked.

Feucht, who is married with four children, denied the rumors too, tweeting on Friday “This is false. And it’s defamatory.”
