New Gardena Police Sticker Alerts Officers To The Presence Of A Person With Special Needs

The Gardena Police Department on Monday is now offering free stickers that will alert law enforcement personnel that they may be interacting with a person with special needs. Use of the reflective stickers are voluntary, and are designed to be placed near the front doors of homes or on car windows.

“The special needs sticker program was adopted as another tool to help law enforcement officers when interacting with those with potential physical or developmental disabilities,” the department said in a statement.

Gardena police officers are trained every year on how to interact with people who have special needs, but the stickers are a visual indicator of a person at a call for service may have special needs, and instructions may not be easily understood.

The stickers are available to the public in the lobby of the Gardena Police Department, 1718 W. 162nd Street, or through district lieutenants.

The city of Seal Beach earlier this year also debuted a similar sticker.

history teacher convinces 8th grader that Trump is still president & vaccinations are bad

Middle School Teacher Recorded Making Comments On Hunter Biden, Presidential Election And Vaccines In Classroom

-----------

Silikua’s told her son that if he was ever uncomfortable with what was being said to pull out his phone and start videotaping it, which is exactly what the eighth grader did when his history teacher went on a political rant in class.

“Hunter Biden, for example, is doing deals with China and Ukraine where he was funneling money illegally. He also had child pornography on his laptop. He was having sexual intercourse with his own niece,” the teacher was heard saying.

-----------------

The incident occurred two weeks ago at Anacapa Middle School. Silikula said she alerted the school immediately becuase her son came home very confused.

“And he got in the car and he was very upset. He announced, ‘I’m never getting vaccinated. I’m never getting anymore shots of any kind. Did you know Trump’s still president?'” Silikula said.

In the seven minute recording taken on Oct. 18, the teacher discusses vaccines.

“If you have a baby in the hospital, they don’t want to give it back if you’re not vaccinated. This is a complete power control threat,” the teach was heard saying.

Woman is billed $700 for visiting the ER despite getting NO treatment

A Georgia woman says she received an emergency room bill for nearly $700- despite not receiving treatment and leaving the hospital after seven hours without ever getting to see a doctor.

Taylor Davis told a local media outlet that she checked into Emory Decatur Hospital for treatment of a head injury in July – but after waiting to be seen for seven hours, left the facility.

‘I sat there for seven hours,’ she told Fox 5. ‘There's no way I should be sitting in an emergency room - an emergency room - for seven hours.’

Weeks later, Davis said she was shocked to receive a hospital bill for $688.35.

-------------------------------------------

Initially believing she received the bill in error, she reached out to the hospital and was told the charges stood as an ‘emergency room visit fee.’

‘[The employee] said it’s hospital protocol even if you're just walking in and you're not seen,’ she said. ‘When you type in your social, that’s it. You’re going to get charged regardless.’

In an email sent to Davis and obtained by Fox 5, the hospital said: ‘You are charged before you are seen. Not for being seen.’

Inglewood criticized after 106-0 win over Morningside in football game: 'It was a classless move'

Inglewood criticized after 106-0 win over Morningside in football game: 'It was a classless move'
KABC 10 hrs ago

The Inglewood High School football team defeated Morningside High School by a lopsided score of 106-0 Friday night, prompting criticism from the California Interscholastic Federation and others.

Many are wondering why the mercy rule wasn't put into effect or whether student-athletes may have been exposed to increased injury risk.

"It was a classless move," said Brian Collins, Morningside's first-year head coach, the Los Angeles Times reported. "I told them, 'Go play St. John Bosco and Mater Dei.'"

The California Interscholastic Federation Southern Section condemned Inglewood's in-game conduct in statement, saying it "expects that all athletic contests are to be conducted under the strictest code of good sportsmanship. We expect coaches, players, officials, administrators and students to adhere to the Six Pillars of Character - Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring and Citizenship. A score of 106-0 does not represent these ideals.

"The CIF-SS condemns, in the strongest terms, results such as these. It is our expectation that the Inglewood administration will work towards putting in place an action plan so that an event such as this does not repeat itself.

Youngkin is willing to racebait, pretend support "the big lie", and culture wars to win

https://www.latimes.com/opinion/story/2021-10-30/virginia-governor-race-shows-how-trumpism-rotted-the-entire-republican-party

Youngkin is no Donald Trump, but neither is he disavowing the worst of Trump. He’s using weasel words, but all the same he’s corroding faith in our elections, exploiting racial divisions and embracing phonculture wars. Trump says what he thinks, and his cultists love it; Youngkin says what they want to hear, just without the bile and bombast that has cost the party the support of many moderates, college-educated Republicans and independent voters in the suburbs, and turned the once-red state a purplish blue.

-----

Most effective for Youngkin, it seems, have been his racially tinged appeals regarding schools. The polls suggest they’ve resonated with just the voters he needs: both Trumpian conservatives and more moderate parents in vote-rich suburbs of northern Virginia, outside Washington, and Richmond to the south. But his appeals are demagoguery and worse.

He vows to ban critical race theory, the academic study of systemic racism that isn’t even taught in Virginia’s K-through-12 classes. He’s co-opted a favorite new conspiracy theory on the right, falsely claiming that McAuliffe contacted “his friend Joe Biden” to get Atty. Gen. Merrick Garland to “sic the FBI” on Virginians at local school board meetings protesting “CRT” and vaccine and mask mandates.
