Canadian Lawmaker Is Exposed on Camera for a Second Time
After appearing naked during a virtual House of Commons session in April, a member of Parliament said that he urinated while on video this week.

OTTAWA — For the second time in just over a month, a member of Canada’s Parliament has apologized for exposing himself during a virtual legislative session.

The lawmaker, Will Amos, who is a member of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s Liberal Party, said in a statement posted on Twitter on Thursday evening that during the session the night before, he had “urinated without realizing that I was on camera.”

In April, Mr. Amos apologized for stripping down on camera after a run, an act that also appeared on an internal parliamentary Zoom call. Such calls have partly replaced in-person appearances in the House of Commons by members during the pandemic.

“It was an honest mistake + it won’t happen again,” Mr. Amos posted after the first incident.

On Thursday, Mr. Amos, a former environmental lawyer, said he was stepping down as parliamentary secretary to the minister of innovation, science and industry, as well as from his committee positions, “so that I can seek assistance.”

northern Cali cafe owner charging $5 for wearing mask, $5 for "bragging" about being vaccinated.

Fiddlehead's Cafe had previously posted a sign that read “Get your free COVID-19 vaccine card here!” The sign has since been removed.

Customers at one Northern California cafe were taken aback Monday morning after they got a glimpse of the new store policy that greeted them at the door.

“$5 FEE ADDED TO ORDERS PLACED WHILE WEARING A FACE MASK,” read the poster on the glass window at Fiddlehead’s Cafe in Mendocino. A second sign with the same memo was located by the register.

Just below the large print were two additional notes on the poster that warned guests if they were "caught bragging" about their vaccines “an additional $5 fee” would be added to their bill. The sign claims the fees will be donated to local charities assisting domestic abuse victims. (Previously, Fiddlehead’s Cafe had a second sign on its storefront that’s circulated on social media and read “Get your free COVID-19 vaccine card here!” The sign has since been removed.)

Owner Chris Castleman, who isn't new to sharing his political views, says that some customers have paid the $5 fee, while others have been outraged. Castleman blamed this outrage not on his mask fee but on the charitable component.

As of Thursday afternoon, Fiddlehead Cafe’s business page has temporarily been disabled on Yelp to prevent reviews from being made following the signs placed on Monday. But it hasn’t prevented neighboring restaurant Mendocino Cafe from receiving unwanted attention, according to business owner Meredith Smith.

Rush Limbaugh's Successors Are Chosen, Clay Travis and Buck Sexton will take over his 12-3 slot

Rush Limbaugh’s Successors Are Chosen
Clay Travis and Buck Sexton will take over his 12-3 slot

By John Johnson, Newser Staff

(NEWSER) – It's going to take two people to try to fill the radio void of Rush Limbaugh on the right. Premiere Networks says Clay Travis, 42, and Buck Sexton, 39, will co-host a show in the noon to 3pm ET time slot, reports the Wall Street Journal. Both are radio veterans, though Travis might be better known as the founder of the sports website Outkick.com.

The Clay Travis & Buck Sexton Show will begin airing June 21 across the country. Premiere has largely been airing old segments of Limbaugh's show (supplemented by live updates with guest hosts) since he died of lung cancer in February, and the Journal notes that those are bringing in a respectable 75% to 80% of the usual audience.

“We’re not going to replace Rush Limbaugh, we’re going to have an evolution of the show with fresh voices—those that grew up on Rush and admired him,” says Julie Talbott, president of Premiere Networks, which is owned by iHeartMedia.

The Hollywood Reporter notes that Travis and Sexton will have an additional challenge. Radio stations around the country already have begun giving the Limbaugh time slot, or parts of it, to others, particularly Fox News regular Dan Bongino.

NBA Star Wants Changes After a Popcorn Dumping
Russell Westbrook says the league need to better protect players

Russell Westbrook is fed up. A fan dumped popcorn on the Washington Wizards star as he was limping off the court Wednesday night after injuring his ankle in Philadelphia, reports ESPN. As video of the incident shows, Westbrook had to be restrained from going after the man in the Wells Fargo Center, and Westbrook didn't hold back when talking to reporters after the game.

"To be completely honest, this s--- is getting out of hand, especially for me," he said. "The amount of disrespect, the amount of fans just doing whatever the f--- they want to do." He called on the league to better protect players, per CBS Philadelphia. "There are certain things that cross the line," he said. "Any other setting ... a guy were to come on the street and pour popcorn on my head, you know what happens."

The fan, who hasn't been identified publicly, was ejected. He's said to have been a season-ticket holder who's now lost those tickets, and he's also been banned from all events at the Wells Fargo Center. "This was classless, unacceptable behavior," says Valerie Camillo, president of business operations for the center.

new study... suicide rates by race

Suicide rates dramatically increased for minorities in the U.S. over the last five years, a new government study suggests.

Although overall rates are still higher among white Americans - and have been for at least the past two decades - increases have been more dramatic among communities of color.

Researchers found that rates rose by 30 percent for black residents and 16 percent for Asians between 2014 and 2019 compared to 10 percent among whites.
