Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker's son accused of sexual assault on flight

The adult son of Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker has been accused of sexual assault by a woman on a JetBlue flight Wednesday.

The incident allegedly happened on flight 1354 from Washington, D.C., to Boston, according to Boston ABC affiliate WCVB.

"On June 20, the crew of flight 1354 were notified of an incident between customers shortly before landing in Boston," JetBlue said in a statement. "The aircraft landed at approximately 11 p.m. local time where it was met by local authorities."

A woman on the flight accused Andrew Baker, known as A.J., of inappropriate touching, WCVB reported.

Young Trump staffers are complaining they can't date in DC because everyone hates them

Young Trump administration staffers are having a hard time dating in Washington — one of the most Democratic cities in the country — according to a new Politico feature.

Both current and former staffers say they're often berated by prospective dates online, or simply denied when someone finds out where they work or that they voted for the president.

"You do the small-talk thing, and you have a very good conversation, and then they might say, 'You didn't vote for Trump, right?'" one 31-year-old female administration official told Politico. "As soon as I say, 'Of course I did,' it just devolves into all-caps 'HOW COULD YOU BE SUCH A RACIST AND A BIGOT?' And 'You're going to take away your own birth control.'"

In one recent online exchange, a potential date asked her, "Do you rip babies from their mothers and then send them to Mexico?"

Another match on an dating app told her, "Thanks but no thanks. Just Googled you and it said you were a mouthpiece for the Trump administration. Go f--- yourself."

Many young staffers have turned inward — dating exclusively within the administration.

After Nevada GOP push, Treasury changed lucrative policy benefiting one county

The Treasury Department last week reversed itself after lobbying by Nevada Republicans and agreed to let a previously ineligible county reap huge benefits from the new tax law.

The effort was led by Nevada’s governor, Brian Sandoval (R), and Sen. Dean Heller (R-Nev.), who separately spoke with Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and pushed for Storey County to win designation as an “Opportunity Zone,” which was established in the law to help distressed areas attract money.

Working behind the scenes to help the effort was a Storey County brothel owner and real estate investor, Lance Gilman, who told local officials that the designation could lead to a surge of investments within the next few years. Gilman is also a major GOP donor and made a $5,000 campaign contribution to Heller in the midst of the process, the biggest contribution he had ever given to a candidate for federal office.

Treasury officials had initially deemed that Storey County’s income levels were too high to qualify, based on the metrics they had used to judge every other nomination for the special tax status. But after weeks of prodding from Nevada officials, Treasury relented and gave the designation to Storey County using new data.

man purposely backs his wheelchair into two elderly women

I hope they catch him. one of the women is in her 90s!!

This is the bizarre moment two elderly women were knocked to the ground after a man backed into them in his electric wheelchair - before driving off.

The clip shows the two ladies, one believed to be in her 90s, waiting at a bus stop outside what appears to be a newsagent.

Footage from inside the shop shows the women waiting patiently as a man in the electric wheelchair drives past.

However, rather than continuing on the path, he then starts backing his chair into the two women who are facing the other way as they wait for their bus.

Poll: Trump is turbo-charging voter enthusiasm - for both parties

Voters in both parties are already fired up and ready to cast their ballots in November. Donald Trump is a big reason why.

Enthusiasm about the midterm elections is at its highest point in at least 20 years, buoyed by large numbers in both parties who say the president will be a major factor in their vote this fall.

A Pew Research Center survey released Wednesday shows far greater engagement in this year’s elections among both Democrats and Republicans than in the 2014 midterms. The Democratic wave is building: Voters who say they intend to support the Democratic candidate in their congressional district are far more enthusiastic than in the two midterm elections under President Barack Obama — they’re even more enthusiastic than at this point in the Democratic landslide year of 2006.

But this year's Democratic wave may be crashing against a well-fortified GOP wall. Enthusiasm among Republicans about voting is higher now than before almost every midterm election going back to 1994 — the only exception was June 2010, just before a GOP wave netted the party 63 seats and control of the House of Representatives.

“This is a different midterm than the ones in 2006, 2010 and 2014. In those midterms, you had one party that was more enthusiastic,” said Carroll Doherty, director of political research at the Pew Research Center. “In this current scenario, at least in this early data, you find high enthusiasm among both parties.”

Corey Lewandowski dropped by speakers bureau after 'womp womp' comment

Leading Authorities, Inc., one of Washington DC's top speakers bureaus, severed ties with Lewandowski on Wednesday, a source familiar with the matter said. His name no longer appears on the bureau's website.

Speakers bureaus like LAI handle speaking gigs for notable political and media personalities, which can be a lucrative business. Speakers can net five- or even six-figure checks for one engagement.

Matthew Jones, the bureau's chief operating officer, did not respond to phone calls requesting comment. Lewandowski also did not respond to several phone calls.
