An Ohio lawmaker who routinely touted his Christian faith and anti-LGBT views has resigned after being caught having sex with a man in his office.

Wes Goodman, who is the Republican state legislator for Ohio, is married to a woman who is assistant director of an annual anti-abortion rally known as March for Life.

The right-wing legislator, who pushed “family values”, was reportedly witnessed having sex with a man inside his office who was not employed by the legislator.

Mr Goodman, whose Twitter biography describes him as “Christian. American. Conservative. Republican. Husband to @Beth1027”, has regularly claimed "natural marriage" occurs between a man and a woman.

"Healthy, vibrant, thriving, values-driven families are the source of Ohio's proud history and the key to Ohio's future greatness,” reads his campaign website which has now been taken offline.

Ivanka tweeting about education with a misspelled word. You know the twitterverse jumped on that!

THis is the kind of crap she tweets...seeming to take credit for herself and Trump for stuff that they had nothing to do with.

As of yesterday, @usedgov has recieved, reviewed + approved EVERY state’s Perkins V plan, providing $1.3 Billion (this year alone) to states, school districts, and community colleges for career and technical education.

Replying to @IvankaTrump @usedgov
You little fraud. It’s a reauthorization of an act that passed in 2006.

Oh, to Be Ivanka! So many hot spots, so little time.

Oh, to be Ivanka! The clothes, the kids, the teeth, the entitlement. She goes everywhere because she belongs everywhere — that confidence is in her platinum-encrusted genes — and because there’s no corner of the world or cranny of existence that isn’t enhanced by her presence.

That was the joke in a Zelig-inspired, Gump-reminiscent meme that exploded in tweets over the past few days. Look: There’s Ivanka between Ulysses S. Grant and Robert E. Lee at Appomattox. And here’s Ivanka teaming with Jonas Salk to develop the polio vaccine. She stretches out in bed with John Lennon and Yoko Ono. She peeks through a window in the background of the painting “American Gothic.”

Sometimes Twitter is a toilet. Sometimes it’s a reason to live.

And sometimes a hashtag distills a bottomless sea of disgust into a few acid droplets. The one accompanying these images was #unwantedivanka. It stemmed less from her brush with the Dear Leader than from a bit of video that showed her clumsily inserting herself into a conversation among Prime Minister Theresa May of Britain, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau of Canada and President Emmanuel Macron of France in Osaka, Japan. They may have credentials, but she has luminosity.

And gall. That’s what binds her and Jared. It’s their marriage’s secret sauce.

Last week he finally started to unveil his Middle East peace plan — because of course Jared can solve what actual experts failed to — and it threw $50 billion of theoretical investment at the problem without tackling any of the toughest stuff. It had already been disparaged by Secretary of State Mike Pompeo; in a closed-door meeting he told Jewish leaders that the proposal was “not particularly original” and quite possibly “unexecutable,” according to an audio recording obtained by The Washington Post.

The rest of the world greeted it with no more enthusiasm, alternately shrugging and laughing, but Jared was partly insulated from that response because he and “Ivanks,” as he fetchingly calls her, were off to the Koreas. So many hot spots, so little time.

Ivanka nudged Pompeo and Mick Mulvaney, the acting chief of staff, out of the frame, essentially performing the roles of the entire cabinet and the first lady (who skipped the trip) at once. Coming soon: her book on multitasking.

"Trump is unable to distinguish between friends of the US & autocratic rivals who play on his vanity

Ultimately, the lack of presidential temperament leaves Trump unable to distinguish between friends of the United States and autocratic rivals who play on his vanity. And this allows strongmen such as Russian President Vladimir Putin and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia to murder, intimidate and attack Western liberalism under the protective cover of Trump’s narcissism.

American pride has hit an all-time low, a poll finds

The numbers, from a new Gallup poll, are the lowest since the polling organization began gauging patriotic fervor this way in 2001.
The numbers have been falling for much of the 21st century, and are down even from last year. In 2018, 47% felt "extremely proud," while this year 45% are saying the same thing.

https://www.cnn.com/2019/07/02/politics/american-patriotism-all-time-low-trnd/index.html

But just 32% feel pride in the American political system, according to the Gallup poll.

Pride is partisan
During the Obama years, Republican pride slipped 10 points, from 78% in 2009 to 68% in 2016.
On the Democratic side, the Trump presidency has slashed extreme pride in America in half, from 45% in 2016 to just 22% this year. Meanwhile, Republican pride has been creeping up a couple points each year since the 45th president took office.

Trump claims homelessness is 'phenomenon that started 2 years ago,' blames 'liberal' mayors

Massive wasp nests as big as a car are appearing in Alabama (again)

Scientists issued a buzzworthy warning to Alabama residents: thousands of wasps are making the state home in what are called perennial yellow jacket nests. And they are freaky.

In 2006, a colony of 15,000 yellow jackets -- the size of a Volkswagen Beetle -- was one of 90 perennial nests located in Alabama that year. Entomologist Charles Ray said something like this may happen again in 2019.

Ray's warning was published last month with the Alabama Cooperative Extension System, a primary outreach organization on behalf of Alabama A&M University and Auburn University. Ray is also a research fellow in Auburn University's Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology.
"These perennial nests may be several feet wide and have many thousands of workers, far more than an average nest," Ray said. "We have found them attached to home exteriors and other places you might not expect to find yellow jackets."
Places like the side of a house, inside a discarded mattress, or even just on the ground in a field.

It's called a perennial yellow jacket nest.

The perennial yellow jacket nests bear little resemblance to normal colonies.

mother tried to drown child 11 years ago. same kid dies in water filled irrigation ditch on Saturday

Mother arrested after child found in water-filled ditch dies, police say

A Tulare County woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder after her two children were found in an irrigation ditch and one of them died.

-----

As they made their way to the scene, deputies were notified that the children had been found in an irrigation ditch that was filled with water, according to the release.

The boys were taken to a hospital, where the 12-year-old died and the 7-year-old was admitted in critical condition. Authorities are conducting an autopsy to determine the older child’s cause of death.

Telnas was arrested at the scene. She is due in court Tuesday afternoon.

A former resident of Missoula, Mont., Telnas was charged with attempted murder in 2008 after she admitted to trying to drown her then-10-month-old son in the Clark Fork River because she had heard voices, according to a report from the Mineral Independent. She pleaded no contest to lesser counts of criminal endangerment as part of a deal with prosecutors, the report states.

Family members told a local ABC affiliate that the 12-year-old who died on Saturday is the same child Telnas tried to drown 11 years ago.
