Nail salon wouldn't give woman a manicure. So a Walmart cashier offered a helping hand

"When I went in there they denied me because they said I moved too much," Peters told WNEM in Bay City, Michigan.

Peters has cerebral palsy. She uses a wheelchair and yes, her hands have a mind of their own.

Cerebral palsy does that to a body. It is a movement disorder that, according to the Mayo Clinic, can cause abnormal reflexes and involuntary movements, floppy or rigid limbs.

Ebony Harris, a cashier at that Walmart, was working the day the salon turned Peters away, she told ABC 12 in Flint, Michigan. Harris knows Peters as a frequent shopper she has spoken to frequently. She's helped her shop a couple of times, too.

"She's such a joy, she's a sweetheart. She has a humble heart," Harris told Cars 108 radio station in Flint, Michigan.

Harris saw that Peters was upset and asked if she could do her nails for her.

"And she just started smiling and said, 'yeah,' " Harris told WNEM.

So Peters bought a bottle of polish and Harris set up a makeshift manicure station at one of the tables in the in-store Subway.

DeBary restaurant owner says she doesn't want business from Biden supporters

https://www.fox5ny.com/news/debary-restaurant-owner-says-she-doesnt-want-business-from-biden-supporters

----------------

"It was the only thing I felt like I could do," said the restaurant’s owner, Angie Ugarte.

Ugarte says she posted the message the same day 13 service members were killed in Afghanistan.

"I was just angry. I was just let down. I felt like one of those mothers, or wives, or sisters who were gonna get that knock on the door," she explained.

----------------

So what do the customers think?

"I’ve had people come to the door and look at it and turn around and walk away. And I’ve had people come into the kitchen while I’m cooking and say, ‘Hey, I love your sign,’" Ugarte said.

People we asked have mixed feelings too.

"I wouldn’t go there. I don’t appreciate it," resident Louis Vasquez.

"She has the right to not let anybody in the restaurant that supports a certain view," said Serenity Smith.

school board chair calls these names for public comment: Phil McCracken, Eileen Dover, Suk Mahdik

Virginia's Henrico School Board was duped by public commenters, or a lack thereof, during an August 26 meeting when Chair Roscoe D. Cooper III read out a list of fake names of people who supposedly requested to give their input on the agenda.

After three hours of serious discussions about its partnership with the Henrico Police Department, the revocation of an employee's license, revisions to student education records and codes of conduct, and other agenda items, the board opened up the floor to public comment.

Citizens are required to sign up in advance using an online form in order to address the board in person, according to the agenda's public forum description.

Only one woman actually showed up to address the board in person; the rest were seemingly fake names. Much like Bart Simpson's prank calls to Moe's Tavern, names used to sign up for public comment included Phil McCracken, Eileen Dover, Suk Mahdik, Ophelia McCaulk, Don Kedick, and Wayne Kuhr, all of which Cooper read out loud.

Candace Owens reportedly hit with "sudden illness," claims it's absolutely not COVID

Although the nature of this alleged illness was not mentioned, the issue caught fire on Twitter, with many users wondering whether Owens — a fervent and outspoken right-wing opponent of vaccine mandates and mask requirements — had contracted COVID-19. That speculation was further fueled by Owens' recent social media remarks boasting that family members around her had fallen ill while she herself remained healthy during the pandemic.

"I'm unvaccinated. I've been to six countries and 28 states since the start of this pandemic (maskless outside of planes), and I still don't have Covid," Owens tweeted last week. "I slept next to my husband every night that he had it (what amounted to a light chest cold), and I still never got it. How?"

Owens, who was spotted in London late last week, took to Twitter on Monday to announce that she doesn't have COVID, saying that she was hanging out on an "Aspen mountain."
