Elon Musk's focus on the physics degree ( which he pretended to have)

Interesting long thread about Elon's education and dishonesty about it..

He has been portrayed as a real life Tony Stark ( iron man) but he has no science degree. He would have to be a genius to be actively working on space, new car designs etc without an advanced science degree

Commentator Ripped For Saying Herschel Walker Talks Like 'Countless Blacks'

https://www.newsweek.com/commentator-ripped-saying-herschel-walker-talks-like-countless-blacks-1760456

Acommentator who compared Herschel Walker's so-called "stupid" speech to that of "countless Blacks in the Deep South" has earned intense scorn—largely from Black people who come from the South.

Michael Tracey, a journalist and recurring guest on the Fox News show Tucker Carlson Tonight, tweeted his response to critics of Georgia's GOP Senate candidate on Wednesday night. Trump-backed Herschel Walker and Democratic Senator Raphael Warnock are headed to a runoff election on December 6 after neither candidate received more than 50 percent of the vote this month.

"Herschel Walker doesn't come across as the ideal US Senator, but the main reason he's called 'stupid' seems to be because he speaks in a heavy regional dialect, with lots of colloquialisms. This alone does not make him 'stupid'––he sounds like countless Blacks in the Deep South," said Tracey.

Tracey's name, the phrase "Countless Blacks" and the phrase "Deep South" were all trending on Twitter by Thursday. His characterization of Walker's accent was broadly repudiated by people who shared their own experiences in the Southern Black community.

Loa Angeles county sheriff says 22 year old driver intentionally ran into 25 jogging recruits

Crash a ‘deliberate act,’ sheriff says after driver arrested on suspicion of attempted murder

A 22-year-old Diamond Bar man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder of peace officers after the Los Angeles County sheriff said he deliberately ran into scores of recruits on a training run Wednesday in South Whittier, injuring 25.

Investigators “have developed probable cause to believe it was intentional,” Sheriff Alex Villanueva said in an interview with NewsNation on Thursday.

“They went through an exhaustive interview process with everyone involved, with the video surveillance, the statements from the recruits, the physical evidence they have and what they got from the suspect himself, and they were able to form the opinion this was a deliberate act,” he told the news station.

Nicholas Joseph Gutierrez was arrested Wednesday, hours after the early morning crash, authorities said. His bail was set at $2 million, according to the Sheriff’s Department.

Twenty-five sheriff’s recruits were injured in the crash, authorities said.

2 firefighters "knowingly made false reports" about sweeping burning house, missing sleeping boys

Flint Firefighter Who Returned to Work After Leaving Black Boys Behind in Blaze Quits

Zlotek and his former colleague, Sergeant Daniel Sniegocki, both of whom are white, were tasked with searching for victims trapped in the burning house on Pulaski Street in late May. Zy’Aire Mitchell, 12, and LaMar Mitchell, 9, were missed in the search as they slept, with Zlotek and Sniegocki calling an all-clear for their rooms. Another crew discovered the boys seven minutes later, rushing them to a nearby hospital. They died days later.

The city’s fire chief, Raymond Barton, determined in an investigation that Zlotek and Sniegocki later “knowingly made false reports” about properly sweeping the house. Sniegocki resigned his position after the fire, but Zlotek returned to work—after two weeks’ suspension and a course in search-and-rescue training.

Zlotek’s departure was first confirmed to The Flint Journal by a city spokeswoman. A spokeswoman for Flint Mayor Sheldon Neeley’s office declined to speak to The Daily Beast when reached by phone.

In his report, Fire Chief Barton had written he’d determined the best course of action was to terminate both Zlotek and Sniegocki. But after “advisement” from three officials—City Attorney William Kim, Flint’s Director of Human Resources Eddie Smith, and City Administrator Clyde Edwards—the chief reversed course, the Beast reported earlier this month. The decision sparked outrage in the community, as well as allegations of a cover-up by the Neeley’s administration. Neeley, a Democrat, was re-elected to office last week.

Sheriff's Deputy and Daughter Killed in Crash While Returning from Disneyland Allegedly Caused by DUI Driver

Daniel Jacks had been with the Riverside County Sheriff's Department since 2008, and his daughter, Hannah, was a dancer who had performed at Disneyland

---

According to a statement from the Riverside County Sheriff's Department, Correctional Corporal Daniel Jacks, 45, of San Jacinto, and his daughter Hannah died as a result of the collision, which took place in Hemet at about 9:17 p.m.

FoxLA reports the father and daughter were coming home from Disneyland, where Hannah had been performing as a dancer. The California Highway Patrol says the collision took place when another car traveling in the opposite direction crossed over the double yellow line and hit them head-on.

The driver of the other vehicle, Scott Bales, 47, of Moreno Valley, has been charged with two counts of murder and one count of DUI causing bodily injury, according to Riverside County jail records.

The Desert Sun, citing county court records, reports Bales was previously convicted of DUI in Riverside County in 2008, 2014 and 2020. The East Bay Times reports he has not had a valid driver's license since 2005.

“We are going to be asking everyone who sells drugs, gets caught selling drugs, to receive the death penalty for their heinous acts,” Trump said Tuesday to cheers from his supporters at Mar-a-Lago, the social club he owns in Palm Beach, Florida. The line was part of an hour-plus-long speech announcing his plans to challenge President Joe

The Group That's Changing the Abortion Rights Playbook and Winning Big - Families United for Freedom

https://www.politico.com/news/magazine/2022/11/15/abortion-rights-election-00066788

Freedom spent over $1.7 million in four of the six states with abortion ballot measures this cycle — Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan and Montana. (There were also ballot measures in the safe Democratic states of California and Vermont.) The group partnered with local grassroots organizations to protect abortion rights, providing them with polling and strategic advice. The group was driven by a simple thesis: When given the option, voters in red and purple states will support abortion rights at the polls — if the issue is divorced from partisan politics. On Election Day, that thesis proved to be mostly correct.

The initial test of whether ballot measures in defense of abortion rights could be more popular when put to the voters directly came in Kansas, a red state, in August, soon after Dobbs. Voters there weighed in on a constitutional amendment that would have allowed the state legislature to restrict abortion in the state. The amendment, which had been put on the ballot before the Supreme Court’s decision and timed to coincide with the primary elections in a deep-red state that no Democratic presidential candidate had carried since Lyndon Johnson, failed overwhelmingly.

In that campaign, FUF contributed $600,000 to the local group Kansans for Constitutional Freedom, which coordinated abortion-rights efforts in the campaign.

That initial win molded Families United for Freedom’s thinking and approach, Rachael Bedard, the group’s executive director, told POLITICO. “I think Kansas is this really important case study in a red state with lots of folks who self-identify as Republicans and independents showing up to vote,” she said. Those voters supported abortion rights far more than anticipated, Bedard said, because the modeling had not been adjusted to reflect how political attitudes on abortion rights had changed in the aftermath of Dobbs.
