I hope the Washington press corps has caught some sleep this weekend.
An Oregon history professor tweeted about Trump conservatism and his Twitter feed blew up.
The Oregonian did a very interesting and thoughtful interview with the professor Seth Cotlar about the incident. I'll post the link to the twitter feed below, but many of the messages are inserted into the interview, as well.

Conservative publication Town Hall makes the case for sticking with Trump
Here's why:
"He fights."
The first two paragraphs:
"We Right-thinking people have tried dignity. There could not have been a man of more quiet dignity than George W. Bush as he suffered the outrageous lies and politically motivated hatreds that undermined his presidency. We tried statesmanship. Could there be another human being on this earth who so desperately prized “collegiality” as John McCain? We tried propriety – has there been a nicer human being ever than Mitt Romney? And the results were always the same.
This is because, while we were playing by the rules of dignity, collegiality and propriety, the Left has been, for the past 60 years, engaged in a knife fight where the only rules are those of Saul Alinsky and the Chicago mob."
Next come many paragraphs about the righteousness and moral authority, "collegiality and dignity" of their cause, with plenty of attacks on the left, projecting their offenses against the social contract onto Dems. The author makes the argument that Trump is using the Saul Alinsky playbook against the Left -- a new twist!
The author believes that the left has been waging asymetric war for sixty years, but this is the first time the right has had a fighter. And that's why they are keeping him.

The jury not only wasn’t sequestered—jurors mingled freely in the courthouse elevators, cafeteria and hallways with reporters and spectators. I’ve never seen anything like it.

re: stripping clearances....I heard an expert say on MSNBC 11th Hour...
....that it is not lawful to revoke a security clearance from someone who is reporting unlawful behavior/actions.

Crimea is a region in Ukraine that has been occupied by Russia for several years, with the Russian Federation having claimed to have annexed the region in March 2014. Russian President Vladimir Putin has claimed the territorial matter is settled, but many in Washington disagree.
Language in the fiscal 2019 defense authorization, which Trump signed into law Monday during a ceremony at Fort Drum in upstate New York, purported to impose a funding blockade on the Pentagon acting on recognition of Crimea as part of Russia.

He's a retired neuropsychologist....a very sober, thoughtful man. Let's try to find the video clip when it's available. He was there to talk about the effects of forced separation on children of immigrants, and had information on the children sent out of London during the Blitz and the after effects of that trauma.
