rampartc's Journalwar on xmas : why we fight
christmas is really for the children, isn't it.
children are taught the story of the shepherds and wise men bringing gifts to the baby in the manger and "hark" the angels singing etc
children are also taught the sick story of jolly old st nick and his lists of "naughty" and "nice."
it does not take long for kids to understand that their schoolmates with more affluent parents seem to be higher on the "nice" list than they are. this fact of life certainly is internalized by the rich kids, who can't wait to show off their new toys to the kids who really needed those shoes and that sweater that santa brought them.
this tradition of conspicuous consumption is detrimental to rich and poor alike, and follows them throughout their lives and all year round. class warfare under a decorated tree.
critical race theory : congratulations conservatives
elementary schools are not teaching your children that they are evil racists because they are white.
of course, they never have taught anyone that, that still isn't "critical race theory," and terrorizing your local school boards did not change anything about this subject.

Fox News has aired more segments on trans athletes so far in 2021 than it did in the last two years combined | Media Matters for America
Fox News aired at least 126 discussions about transgender athletes from January 2019 through March 2021, including 72 discussions that aired in the first three months of this year alone -- more than twice as many as in 2019 and 2020 combined. Throughout all of those discussions, Fox hosts and guests could point to only nine trans women athletes, one of whom was not even allowed to compete and none of whom were dominating their sport -- as states around the country consider banning them from competing.
Fox anchors, hosts, and guests also cited trans athletes in at least 58 passing mentions during this time, often listing them among examples of supposedly extreme Democratic policies.
i have had very mixed opinions of this issue, the kids, all of them, deserve to be treated fairly and protected from unfair competition and bullying. but what is the best way to achieve that?
i have commented in the past that i just do not think there are enough transgender children to worry about the bath rooms or sports records. this article confirms that conclusion. the usa has bigger problems than 9 unfortunate children who might not be noticed at all if not for the fox news echo chamber.
one last note on transgender athletes. how about the republican candidate for california governor .......
