The $50m PFP makes things real for America.

Sometimes it’s the ‘little’ that make a difference. The long twisted trail through Russian Ex-pat Mobs, the Oligarchs, Manafort, The GRU, Wikileaks, the NRA may not be easy to stomach, it isn’t easy to digest either.

The $50m Penthouse For Putin ticks all the boxes - it’s a real estate deal - A Penthouse for Putin, a Tower For Trump. Easy to understand, wholly consistent with DJT’s image. And nobody is denying it either.

Bow to Putin, get a deal. It damages Trump precisely because it’s a comfortable fit. It’s a big fucking deal.

Trump's got 42.9% approval at 538. Ya wanna know why?

We’ll one reason is that Nate Silver keeps Rasmussen Report in the mix, an outfit even more fair and balanced than Fox News. 51% of Americans approve of President Trump according to Rasmussen.

RR 18-20/11 Trump 51/48% approval
Cf
18-20/11 YouGov 40/49%
17-20/11 ARG 42/55%
14-20/11 Ipsos 44/51%
14-19/11 Quinnipiac 41/54%

Yes, Nate, discounts and adjusts their results. After reweighting RR’s adjusted results areTrump 48/51%.

Ramussen is sewerage. RR’s are updated every 2-3 days, are ‘inexplicably’ counter narrative (if other polls go down, it goes up) and disproportionally dominates Registered Voters.

I’ve heard Nate justify leaving Rasmussen in with a ‘Both Sides’ argument. No good enough. If the evidence mounts that a survey is not just biased, but a croc of cooked up lies, it’s time to give then the boot.

Michelle Obama: GWB is a "beautiful, funny, kind, sweet man"

Source: CNN Wire / wtvr.com

“Former first lady Michelle Obama said that her oft-admired friendship with former President George W. Bush serves as a reminder of how relationships should be during a time when America only sees all the “nasty parts” of political discourse.”

““I’d love if we as a country could get back to the place where we didn’t demonize people who disagreed with us,” she added.”

“Although Obama and Bush don’t always agree on things, Obama said, she still considered the former president a “beautiful, funny, kind, sweet man.””

I can hear Barack saying we can disagree without being disagreeable. Well, I guess the million or so people GWB killed don’t disagree, they were silenced forever. Michelle is well advised to stay clear of politics. These remarks are up there with GWB’s comments about Putin’s soul.

Putin is about to gain control of Interpol

Source: Sydney Morning Herald

Putin is about to gain control of Interpol

Washington: On Wednesday delegates of the general assembly of Interpol - the International Criminal Police Organisation, the coordinating body for law enforcement from 192 countries - will meet in Dubai for the last day of their 87th annual session.

Their most important agenda item: elect the organisation's new president to replace Meng Hongwei, who went missing in China in October. (The Chinese authorities later announced that Meng had been arrested on "corruption charges" and sent what was purported to be his resignation letter to the agency's headquarters in Lyon, France.)

The leading candidate to become the next president of Interpol is Alexander Prokopchuk, a police general in the Russian Interior Ministry who has for the past seven years headed Interpol's Russian bureau. Prokopchuk's candidacy was kept under wraps until the last moment - and, presumably, until the Kremlin was confident of securing enough votes.

The British government has determined that Prokopchuk's victory is assured to the extent that "there is no point in trying to stop him".

Compare and Contrast Trump with GWB

This is a follow up to an earlier post comparing Trump with Nixon

- off the top of my head - neither was elected by the American people. GWB killed lot more people - asleep at the wheel for 9/11 then Afganistan & Iraq wars. Presided over the Katrina disaster & the 2007 financial crash. In bed with the Saudis. Lined the pockets of Halliburton & Blackwater. Linguistically challenged.

How many lives, how many families were broken by his wars and the Great Recession?

On the other hand, may have been fooled by Putin but did not sell us out. Did not conduct a frontal assault on the press.

One thing in common - both lobbied hard for Kavanaugh

Fox News Sides With CNN in Lawsuit Against Trump Administration

Source: Fortune

A day after CNN announced that it was filing a lawsuit against members of the Trump administration for revoking correspondent Jim Acosta's press credentials, Fox News is siding with the rival network.

Fox News announced Wednesday that it stands behind CNN's efforts to restore Acosta's White House press credentials, noting that it intends to file an amicus brief with the U.S. District Court in support of CNN's suit.

"Secret Service passes for working White House journalists should never be weaponized," said Fox News President Jay Wallace in a statement. "While we don't condone the growing antagonistic tone by both the president and the press at recent media avails, we do support a free press, access and open exchanges for the American people."

What do you think of Clay Jones' cartoons?

Not really a GD issue, so I am posting here. What do you think of the grotesque way Clay draws Trump? My take - great cartoonist.

Listening to Gen McCystal interview on BBC : 1 min in - 'BOTH SIDES'

“(we’ve got) very extreme politics from the left and the right - you’ve got to move towards the middle”.

I turned it off. A lie that denies hate is hate.

Why is American politics so divided? Hateful lies, and liars like you General McCrystal.
