Congress has to condemn tRump for his comment when asked about increased threats on Omar...

I could not believe this. During a brief interview, Tom Hauser — a political reporter from KSTP TV, a local channel owned by Republican megadonor Stanley Hubbard — noted to Trump that his video tweet “has led to direct threats on [Omar’s] life. Any second thoughts about that tweet and the way it was produced and put together?”

“No, not at all,” Trump replied. He then went on to use a series of dog whistles about Omar, who in January became one of the country’s first Muslim congresswomen.

How can a sitting pResident do this?

Gym Jordan letter writing fool on states voting rights now...

What's with Gym Jordan? How can a sitting Congressman write letters telling witnesses not to cooperate with Congressional oversight responsibilities and hearing? First it was sending letters to the drug companies telling them not to cooperate because it would hurt their stock prices (https://www.salon.com/2019/04/10/jim-jordan-mark-meadows-warn-big-pharma-execs-not-to-cooperate-with-drug-price-probe/). Now they are writing to states telling them not cooperate with the Oversight committee looking into voting rights issues (https://www.charlotteobserver.com/news/politics-government/article229280689.html).

He says Congress has no right to ensure free and fair elections? What is wrong with this guy?

Is Russia running the Justice Department Now? The Barr/Alfa Bank/Justice Department Link...

This part in the NewsWeek article on Billy Barr is killing me. For those who haven't read it, here it is:

Alfa Bank
Barr’s former law firm Kirkland & Ellis LLP, where he was counsel from March 2017 until he was confirmed as attorney general in February 2019, represented Russia’s Alfa Bank. (Barr earned more than $1 million at Kirkland.)

Barr also supervises, at Justice, another Kirkland & Ellis alumnus with Alfa ties. Early last year, Trump nominated Kirkland & Ellis partner Brian Benczkowski to the Justice Department’s criminal division. In his role with the law firm, Benczkowski had represented Alfa Bank and supervised an investigation into suspicious online communications between the bank and servers belonging to the Trump Organization.

Investigators found no evidence that the Trump Organization had communicated with Alfa. Still, the bank is partially owned by Russian oligarch German Khan, whose son-in-law, the London-based lawyer Alexander van der Zwaan, was indicted by special counsel Robert Mueller for lying to investigators about a report his firm had written for Trump’s former campaign manager Paul Manafort.

Benczkowski was confirmed last July as assistant attorney general for the Justice Department’s criminal division.

“In terms of a lawyer’s professional codes, it’s definitely legally significant if [Barr] is in counsel position,” Frisch tells Newsweek . “If he is counsel to the company and he isn’t personally working on a matter but the company is, the company’s conflicts are imputed to him.”

Barr had 2 years to get up to speed with inside information from the Russian side of this issue. Benczkowski was the supervisor who investigated the communications FOR Alfa Bank and was later hired as assistant attorney general. This is freaking nuts!!!

Since Congressman Dan Crenshaw started this Ilhan Omar/some people/9-11 outrage...

maybe Pete Davidson ought to consider rescinding his apology for hurting his feelings for making jokes about him wearing an eye patch, since Congressman Crenshaw sees no problem in spreading false narratives endangering a fellow representatives life. After all, it was Crenshaw who took Omar's comments out of contents and put them with Never Forget. I wonder if Crenshaw will apologize to Omar?

I'm wondering what the age distribution on DU is as it relates to these Presidential postings...

I'm 66. Is it mostly old farts like me that go back to the Iraq war days? I was on here back then, but I quit when it was evident getting rid of Bush wasn't gonna work and stayed away during the peaceful Obama years.

The reason I'm wondering about the age distribution on here now is because all the enthusiasm for Bernie, Biden, and Warren. I'm pretty well done with Bernie and Biden. I'm tired of the same old ideas. I still like Warren because she's been so late to get into the political realm and has some freshness. However, if we are mostly old timers on here, isn't it time we got out of the way and started supporting the younger candidates?

I mean we've more or less been in charge for the last 30 years or so, and we haven't done a very good job voting in the people of our generation. Maybe we should go younger and see what they can do. If they screw it up at least we can blame it on them.

LETS PLAY HARDBALL. Spin tRump "forgetting" wikileaks as him having DEMENTIA instead of lying...

Wouldn't that be great? He answered that question so seriously. You could tell he wasn't joking. He seriously didn't know anything about wikileaks. His short term memory is starting to go which is the first sign of dementia, along with increasing confusion (oranges), and reduced concentration (that rambling speech at the border a couple days ago).

The press and Congress seriously need to spin the dementia angle of this pResident. I'd like to see more reporters ask members of Congress if they are concerned about the pResident's erratic behavior and signs of dementia. Instead of asking Speaker Pelosi about tRump lying about wikileaks they should ask her on camera if she is concerned about pResident tRump forgetting about praising wikileaks 141 times during the campaign and now saying he doesn't know anything about wikileaks.

Let's play politics. Drop the tRump lying angle. Let's go with DEMENTIA! LET'S PLAY HARDBALL!

I like dementia better than Alzheimer's because it sounds scarier.

If the media won't confront tRump about being a liar for saying he knows nothing about WikiLeaks...

then they should demand that he be removed from office due to having dementia and being unable to fulfill his duties for office. Anyone that said they love WikiLeaks 141 times only 2 and a half years previously and now says they don't know anything about WikiLeaks is definitely suffering from extreme short term memory loss. The media or Congress MUST confront tRump on this statement that he knows nothing about WikiLeaks. He either has to publicly admit he's lying, or be removed from office due to suffering from dementia.

What's really sick about tRump's 9/11 attack on Ilhan is that he retweeted @realDonaldTrump...

on the official United States @POTUS Twitter feed, the same one that every President has used. So, not only do we have his personal, narcissistic twitter to be livid about, we can also stew in the fact that he defiled the official US account and represents the views of the entire country.

I've noticed that sometimes he doesn't retweet his most partisan tweets on the @POTUS account, such as a lot of the Faux Noise stuff.

Some of you may wonder, and some scoff at me for following tRump as I do. Let me say this: “If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”
