The attacker had converted to Islam

Source: LeFigaro

The assailant had converted to Islam 18 months ago, said Le Figaro a police source. His wife, in custody in the late afternoon, would also be Muslim, depending on the neighborhood.

For now, we do not know if there is a link between this conversion and its passage to the act.

Energy-efficient washing machines can be a RESERVOIR for MULTI-DRUG RESISTANT PATHOGENS

This is about a German hospital but IMO could be relevant to those who share washing machines in apartments buildings or laundromats.

Two years ago my building put in energy efficient machines and a tenant who discovered massive amounts of mold in different parts of the machine such as inside below the drawer where detergent is added. Both of us found all sorts of disgusting crud inside the rubber seal where water did not drain. These were not problems with the old top loading machines

Both of us took photos and the company cleaned out the machines, and advised tenants to leave the doors open but tenants still shut them when not in use. I personally no longer use them.

Energy-efficient washing machine in a German hospital acted as a 'reservoir for multidrug-resistant pathogens' and passed on 'pneumonia-like bacteria' to several babies in intensive care

The washing machine in question was used to wash babies' socks and tiny hats and researchers found that it was fostering bacteria in trapped water

Low temperature washes are not hot enough to kill all microorganisms

None of the babies became infected but their clothes were contaminated

Experts call for eco-friendly machines to be redesigned to make them safer

Shocking differences between U.S. and U.K. ingredients lists

The author and campaigner, 38, shared her findings with her audience, who were horrified to see ingredients like the preservative BHT (butylated hydroxytoluene) and artificial colorings in products sold to American consumers while the British versions - and Australian and Canadian - come without.

... in Europe, food companies are required to include warning labels if they use artificial dyes - hence many opt not to use them.

'That's one reason the U.K. version is so different, she added.

To make matters worse, high fructose corn syrup, cellulose gum, and artificial preservatives are added to to the U.S. version.

More than 300 men and boys have been rescued from a 'house of torture' Islamic boarding school where they were detained and raped by staff for years in Kaduna, Nigeria.

Many were found chained up and the detainees, mostly children, said they had been tortured, sexually abused, starved and prevented from leaving.

The New York Times own attorneys advised against releasing information

about whistleblower

snip

The law may insist that a whistleblower’s identity be protected. But The New York Times does not respect that law.

Reports indicate that The New York Times own attorneys advised against releasing this information.

snip

Though the identity of the whistleblower has been a closely guarded secret supported by both parties, and the whole purpose of a whistleblower law is to prevent the identity of someone filing a complaint from becoming public, Times executive editor Dean Baquet defended the release of the information, saying that the whistleblower’s identity is “essential to understanding … whether the president of the United States abused power and whether the White House covered it up.”

Just how that identity is critical to determining Trump’s guilt Baquet does not say.
