Speaking of automatically believing accusers. Let's talk about Avenatti

A woman accused Michael Avenatti of assaulting her, but not only did prosecutors decline to press felony charges, but I haven’t heard of any misdemeanor charges since this happened in December.

I remember back then when I raised skepticism over the accusations, I was sometimes accused of “blaming the victim”, as I if an accuser is known to be a victim from the get go.

Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax calls on FBI to investigate, urges 'due process' after sexual assault claims

Source: WTVR- CNN Wire

Embattled Virginia Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax released a new statement Saturday evening vowing not to resign and calling on the FB to investigate the two sexual assault allegations made against him.

Fairfax called the "interactions" he admits he had with both accusers "consensual" as there are growing calls for him to resign.

"I say again without reservation: I did not sexually assault or rape Meredith Watson, Vanessa Tyson or anyone else," Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax said in the statement.

Fairfax was accused by two women of sexual assault, including rape by one of the women. In his statement on Saturday, he acknowledges both interactions with the women, but says both instances were consensual.

I think we all agree on the FBI investigation.

Meredith Watson's representatives: Our client will not talk to journalists

It's her right and I respect it, although the move is a bit risky given that some people may wonder why she doesn't want to be asked a question here and there.
“Watson’s representatives declined to provide further documentation and said their client would not be talking to journalists.”

If Fairfax is innocent, impeachment proceedings are his best option

Right now, I am slightly inclined to believe Justin Fairfax's accusers.
But Fairfax says he's innocent.

If he is innocent, the only way he can get his excellent lawyers involved is by being the subject of impeachment proceedings.
Fairfax's accusers will have to answer tough questions that they don't have to face at this point.

If he is guilty, his best option is resignation so he doesn't have to waste money on legal defense.
Comments please.

Articles of impeachment being drafted by a Democrat against Justin Fairfax

If he doesn't resign by Monday, Democrat Patrick Hope will introduce the articles of impeachment, which he already requested to be drafted.

After lawmakers in the Virginia Capitol had dodged reporters for days when asked about Tyson's allegations, at least one state delegate -- Patrick Hope of Arlington -- told CNN on Friday that he has begun the process of drafting articles of impeachment against Fairfax and is prepared to introduce them on Monday if the lieutenant governor does not resign before then.

Hope said he believes that Fairfax should and will resign before then but, if he doesn't, he has asked the legislative services to begin drafting the articles of impeachment to be introduced on Monday morning.

Kobluchar accused of humiliating, throwing objects at tearful employees

Reported today by Buzzfeed:

But behind the doors of her Washington, DC, office, the Minnesota Democrat ran a workplace controlled by fear, anger, and shame, according to interviews with eight former staffers, one that many employees found intolerably cruel. She demeaned and berated her staff almost daily, subjecting them to bouts of explosive rage and regular humiliation within the office, according to interviews and dozens of emails reviewed by BuzzFeed News.

That anger regularly left employees in tears, four former staffers said. She yelled, threw papers, and sometimes even hurled objects; one aide was accidentally hit with a flying binder, according to someone who saw it happen, though the staffer said the senator did not intend to hit anyone with the binder when she threw it

Re: Bezos blackmail. Prince Mohammed had the means and motive

Motive: he hates Bezos, who hired Khashoggi and has been relentless in exposing the Prince's role in and lies about the murder.
Means :

A Saudi dissident close to the murdered journalist Jamal Khashoggi has filed a lawsuit charging that an Israeli software company helped the royal court take over his smartphone and spy on his communications with Mr. Khashoggi.

The lawsuit puts new pressure on the company, the NSO Group, and on the government of Israel, which licenses the company’s sales to foreign governments of its spyware, known as Pegasus. More broadly, the suit also calls new attention to Israel’s increasingly open alliance with Saudi Arabia and other Persian Gulf monarchies.

The software, which was used in Khashoggi's phone, can also take over the microphone and camera.

The brother of Bezos' mistress met with Carter Page and Roger Stone

Michael Sanchez , The brother of Jeff Bezos' mistress (Lauren Sanchez) is a Trump supporter, and has recently been in touch with Roger Stone and has also met Carter Page, according to this Daily Beast article from 8 days ago:

By his own account, Sanchez is not your typical conservative. He’s described himself as “a gay man, a Hispanic, a West Hollywood homeowner and strong supporter of Trump.”

From the same article:
According to documents reviewed by The Daily Beast, Stone and Sanchez were in touch about the National Enquirer story in the days after it ran—and in the days before Stone was arrested by the FBI and charged with seven criminal counts related to the federal investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election.

Those documents show that Sanchez was also in contact with another figure caught up in the Russia investigations, former Trump campaign foreign policy adviser Carter Page.

Page told The Daily Beast that he and Sanchez have a personal and professional relationship. “Michael is a friend and his agency, Axis Management, has represented me in the past,” he said in a text message. Page also said that Sanchez had “arranged my appearance at Politicon in L.A. last October.” Page declined to go into further detail when asked about the last time that he spoke to Sanchez.

CNN legal analyst: Yes, National Enquirer tried to extort Bezos

The analyst (Copeland) disagrees with another analyst (Marriotti) who says it's not extortion because neither money nor property were demanded.
