You just caused my heart to melt!..❤️

I was just notified that some wonderful persons gifted me some hearts. Thank you so much! It really has made my day!

I love giving hearts and plan to give more over the weekend. They are such sweet little gifts and don't cost much at all!

I am sending you my biggest, warmest, virtual hugs!

My 33-year-old daughter has COVID.

She received both vaccinations and the booster. She and her boyfriend are both pharmacists, and they started coughing a lot so chose to get tested immediately. She texted us after getting the rapid COVID test and said it was negative. She then had the PCR test. Early this morning she texted to say that it was positive. Her boyfriend has type 1 diabetes, so I am especially concerned about him. He has received both vaccinations and his booster, We havent heard yet whether or not his test was positive, but I am assuming that it will be.

I am worried, of course. They have both been so smart, so careful, always wearing their masks, limiting exposure to others. They live 600 miles away in Florida, so I can't just hop in my car and take them my homemade chicken soup (not that soup has any magical healing properties). I just want to do something....but I don't even know what that would be. I know that chances are good that they will not end up hospitalized, but COVID offers us no guarantees. I would change places with her in a heartbear if I could.

My 38-year-old niece and her boyfriend just both tested positive for COVID, too. Apprently, neither of them have been vaccinated. I definitely am worried about them.

I am going to be positive in my texts to my daughter and hide my anxiety. She doesnt need to be concerned about her mom's fears, that's for sure.

I know that many DUers have family and friends who have tested positive for COVID. My heart goes out to each and every one of them. We are all living with so much uncertainty in terms of how a person's immune system will handle the virus. I guess that's my big concern.

Anyway, thank you for reading. I just had to share the news with people I care about. DUers have always been so kind and supportive to me.

Hugs to all......

Deepest pool in the world.

I found this while looking online for snorkeling gear that I am going to purchase as a gift for my daughter. I think they said it is over 13 stories high. I know there is also a very deep pool in Dubai and also apparently one in Poland.

I felt claustrophobic watching the guy descend!

I could use a kind word today....

....because I got a phone call that my brother’s stepson died of a drug overdose this morning. He was such a wonderful young man and we loved him. He was trying to kick his addiction. He had been to several long-term treatment programs and would be sober for a long period of time but would slip back into his addiction again. In fact, I learned today that he had just gotten out of another rehab program. I am heartbroken.

On top of that, I was lucky to get my 2nd Moderna shot yesterday, but I do feel awful today. I could not fall asleep last night. I have a fever today, my body aches terribly, I have chills, and I am terribly fatigued but cannot seem to fall asleep, no matter how hard I try. I am taking Tylenol and drinking lots of water to stay hydrated. I expect these symptoms to go away soon, so I am not going to complain. I am just grateful to have had both shots!

My physical issues are nothing, though, in comparison to my broken heart.

My husband’s young stepson died last year from a drug overdose, so my grief is compounded by my memories of his death.

Life can be so sad.

Thank you for being my friends.

I am disappointed that my own two senators were so cowardly that they voted to acquit. However, I wasn’t surprised. Marsha Blackburn is pathetic, and Bill Hagerty is such a huge disappointment.

I will be contacting these 7 senators to at least thank them for their votes. I don’t believe they will change in terms of aligning themselves with Biden or with Democratic ideals or policies, but I will give them credit for doing the right thing.

I realize that others may have no interest in thanking them but perhaps would still like to contact one or more of them in order to share their thoughts and feelings.

I am surprised that 7 Republicans voted to convict! All of them should have done so. Well, at least these 7 did the right thing.....THIS time.

My ❤️ is deeply touched by the second ❤️ you gave me!

Thank you very much!

I have been in a lot of chronic pain the past six months (no cartilage is left in either of my knees, requiring two knee replacements as soon as my hospital is back to allowing elective surgeries), and the hearts have lifted my spirits today!

You have made me smile!

Just was told that someone at my 89-year-old mother's small church has tested positive for COVID-19.

She lives with my Democratic sister, who has been practicing social distancing and mask-wearing, and my sister's 19-year-old daughter has been begging her grandmother not to attend church during the pandemic. But my mother is a Trump-supporting, Fox-News-watching, evangelical Christian who doesn't think the virus is a big deal. She is extremely stubborn. She does not listen to my sister or my sister's daughter. They have explained that she could bring the virus home and one of them could get sick. Makes no difference to my mother. Nope. Not at all.

My sister called me a few moments ago almost in tears. She said that she had just been informed by our brother-in-law (he picked our mother up to take her to church this morning) that when they arrived at church today the doors were locked because someone has COVID-19.

My sister has tried reasoning with our mother and has begged her to please stay home in order NOT to inadvertently pass the virus on to her, her husband, and her 19-year-old daughter. She said that her daughter has been extremely worried that her grandmother wasn't wearing masks and kept going to church. She doesn't want her grandmother to die, nor does she want to see her mother of father get ill should her grandmother bring the virus home to them.

I am so angry. I can't reason with my mother. Neither can anyone else. She told my sister she isn't worried about the virus because she was never "close enough" to the person to get it. She isn't worried. In fact, she is attending a birthday party tomorrow where most of the people most likely won't be wearing a mask.

I just want to beat my head against a wall. I know Republicans as a rule tend to be selfish, arrogant, hard-headed numbskulls, but I am sick to realize that my own mother fits that description.

She has no problem with her cognition. She takes no medication, has no diseases or chronic conditions, and is as sharp as a tack. There is no excuse for her to act this way.

My sister told her that she should at least wear a mask and stay home just to keep the other household members safe, but even that did not cause her to change her behavior.

We now have to worry during the next couple of weeks if symptoms will show up my mother.

I feel so terrible for my sister. I will support her in any possible way. She is a wonderful person. She says that living with a Trump supporter has been so demoralizing, especially since it has been our very own mother.

I just needed to talk about it. Thank you for listening.

I saw lots of Biden/ Harris signs....

....in many yards as my husband and I took a lovely drive around our neighborhood and town yesterday.

I live in a red state. Last year, we saw tons of Trump signs in our neighborhood yards and throughout our town.

Yesterday, while we were taking a nice drive (looking for landscaping ideas that we might use ourselves), we were surprised to see many, many Biden signs! We both were pleasantly surprised and hope this means that many Trump supporters are changing their minds.

I am feeling pretty excited about it. Most of these people live in middle-class neighborhoods, but we saw Biden signs in a few lower-income neighborhoods as well. I don’t want to pigeonhole people and resort to stereotypes regarding Trump supporters, so I will just say that I feel terrible that some of them seem to be struggling financially and still believe that Trump cares about their lives, needs, and dreams.

I wouldn’t have bothered to post about this except that there were so many signs for Biden. Believe me, we live in the midst of Trump Country-Bible Belt, U.S.A.....so this is highly unusual.

Go Joe!!

Oh, something funny we saw: A huge yard sign saying “Woody and Buzz for 2020!”.....LOL.....We took pictures to share with our kids and friends. They got a kick out of that.
