There will be felony murder charges in Rayshard Brooks' death

If convicted, sentence ranges up to death or up to life in prison without parole. Underlying crime is aggravated assault.

The DA is issuing warrants and throwing the book at this guy.

The DA is NOT playing.

"Man arrested after shooting at deputies outside Spalding County home, cops say"

A 22-year-old is behind bars after exchanging gunfire with two Spalding County deputies outside a home Tuesday evening, authorities said.

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies James Prue and James Dildy were shot at while responding to a domestic call in the 100 block of King Richard Drive about 11:45 p.m As they arrived, they spotted James Hobbs standing outside in a yard, Sheriff Darrell Dix said in a news release.

“The deputies were riding together and when they saw Hobbs they stopped their vehicle to make contact with him,” Dix said. “As they exited, and before they could even speak to him, Hobbs produced a handgun and fired a shot, striking their patrol car.”

Prue and Dildy took cover behind their vehicle as Hobbs allegedly fired a second round, striking the car once more. Both deputies returned fire, and Hobbs ran into some nearby woods and disappeared, authorities said.

A perimeter was set up in the area as additional deputies arrived to assist in the search. Before police entered the woods, however, Hobbs emerged near Westmoreland Road and surrendered.

FOX is reporting on the new "#TrumpIsNotWell" ad

New ad by anti-Trump GOP group uses clip of president's slow walk at West Point

EXCLUSIVE: A Republican group that opposes President Trump’s reelection is going up with a new ad that spotlights the president slowly walking down a ramp Saturday during his appearance at the U.S. Military Academy’s commencement ceremony at West Point.

“Something's wrong with Donald Trump. He’s shaky. Weak. Trouble speaking. Trouble walking,” the narrator says in the spot by The Lincoln Project while video of the president from Saturday plays.

The clip of Trump carefully descending the ramp -- as West Point superintendent Lt. Gen. Darryl A. Williams walked alongside him -- went viral and spurred tons of media coverage questioning the health of the president, who turned 74 on Sunday.

Trump's health is out in the open and will be a topic of discussion - as it should have been months ago.

Thank you, New Lincoln Project

Virginia man arrested for brandishing assault weapon at black bikers

Anyone wonder how this would have ended if the cops had shown up to find a black man "brandishing" an assault rifle at a group of white men who were standing with their hands up?

A white Virginia man was charged with multiple misdemeanor counts of brandishing a firearm that he pointed at four black men on bikes Sunday who the suspect said were on "private property."
...
The Spotsylvania Sheriff's Office clarified Tuesday that Berry was charged because "the male parties were unarmed and not on HIS private property."
...
"Parked my bike over here to take a break real quick and we got a white guy out here pointing a gun at four black men," one of the bikers can be heard in the video telling the sheriff's office over the phone. He pans over to show the bikers and one vehicle driver holding their hands up.

No one was hurt after a Spotsylvania County sheriff's deputy arrived on the scene after one of the bikers called for assistance.

YORK COUNTY MAN ACCUSED OF USING TASER DEVICE ON STATE TROOPER WHILE RESISTING ARREST
February 3, 2020

State Police say a 37-year-old Dover Township man used a Taser device on a trooper trying to take him into custody during an incident Saturday in Red Lion.

Scott Orvis is charged with multiple counts of felony aggravated assault and two counts of disarming a law enforcement officer in the incident ... Police say Orvis started a fight with another man who had dropped off Orvis’ girlfriend at her house, refusing to let the man leave the driveway. Orvis allegedly punched the man in the face during the confrontation, police allege.

When troopers arrived at the scene, Orvis refused to open the door for them, the complaint states. His girlfriend unlocked the door to allow troopers to enter, but Orvis held it closed from the inside until police eventually forced their way through, according to the complaint.

At that point, Orvis began resisting attempts to take him into custody, according to police. One trooper attempted to use a Taser device to subdue him, but Orvis grabbed the device from the trooper and fired it, hitting the trooper in the shoulder, police allege.

Orvis continued trying to deploy the Taser and almost hit another trooper in the head, according to police. He was eventually taken into custody.

There are ramps and there are ramps

And sometimes there's the same ramp but one person can handle it and another one can't.
