Georgia governor sues to block Atlanta from enforcing coronavirus mask order

Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp (R) on Thursday sued to stop Atlanta from enforcing some of its coronavirus-related rules, including its recent mandate to wear a face covering in public.

The lawsuit alleges that Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms (D) lacked the authority to implement a mask requirement and that she must obey Kemp’s executive orders, including one signed Wednesday night that explicitly bans municipalities from enacting their own mask ordinances.

I'm starting to think there's something in those tax returns Trump is really scared for us to know

Ya think?

Trump Raises New Objections to Subpoena Seeking His Tax Returns

The effort came less than a week after the U.S. Supreme Court cleared the way for the Manhattan district attorney to demand the records.

Days after the U.S. Supreme Court delivered a defeat to President Trump, clearing the way for the Manhattan district attorney to seek his tax returns, his lawyers on Wednesday renewed their efforts to block or at least narrow access to the records.

Mr. Trump’s lawyers wrote to the federal judge in Manhattan who originally presided over the case, saying they plan to argue that district attorney’s subpoena was too broad and politically motivated.
...
The flurry of legal activity over how quickly Mr. Vance’s prosecutors would be able to obtain access to some or all of the records — and to what extent Mr. Trump could block them — came after the lower-court judge, Victor Marrero, asked both sides to inform him of whether further action was needed in light of the Supreme Court’s landmark decision.

At the same time that Mr. Trump’s lawyers said they plan to argue the subpoena should be blocked, Mr. Vance’s office told the judge that the issue had largely been decided. The office has demanded the returns dating to 2011.

Judge Marrero is scheduled to take up the matter at a hearing on Thursday.

Attention Walmart Shoppers: You now must all wear masks

Walmart will start requiring all customers to wear masks

Walmart, the world's largest retailer, is the latest national chain to require all customers to wear masks.

The change will start next week. Starbucks (SBUX)said last week that it will require customers to wear facial coverings or masks in all 9,000 of its company-owned US stores beginning Wednesday. Best Buy (BBY) announced Tuesday that it will also require all shoppers coming into its approximately 1,000 stores to wear face masks. Costco (COST) began requiring its members to wear masks in stores beginning in May.

Although no federal mandate to wear a mask exists, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says everyone "should wear a cloth face cover when they have to go out in public." The CDC said "face coverings are meant to protect other people."

Most major retailers and grocers initially hesitated to enact their own mask mandates for customers during the pandemic, partly over fears of antagonizing shoppers who refuse to wear them. Retailers have said they are reluctant to put their employees in the position of enforcing mask requirements.

NYT: Trump helps end the career of one of his earliest supporters

When will Trumpsters figure out their idol couldn't care less about them?

Sessions loses primary runoff in Alabama, with Trump helping end the career of one of his earliest supporters

They stood center stage before a cheering crowd of thousands five years ago, shaking hands in a half embrace that seemed to cement a political and ideological bond that would serve as the foundation for Donald Trump’s presidency

“We have a man here who really helped me — and he was the one person I sought his counsel, because he’s been so spot on. He’s so highly respected. Has anybody ever heard of Senator Jeff Sessions? Huh? Jeff, come up, where’s Jeff? Get over here, Jeff,” the former reality TV show host said to a roaring ovation in August 2015.

“Donald, welcome to my hometown, Mobile, Alabama,” then-Sen. Sessions (R-Ala.) said, donning a white “Make America Great Again” cap. “The American people, these people, want somebody in the presidency who stands up for them, defends their interests and the laws and traditions of this country.”

That once remarkable bond came to a crashing end Tuesday night when the Associated Press declared that Tommy Tuberville had defeated Sessions in the run off to be the Republican nominee in November’s Senate race against Sen. Doug Jones (D-Ala.). The result came after Trump spent the past four months imploring Alabama’s voters to reject Sessions, the man who the president once said he leaned on for advice in forming his “America First” agenda.

Bree Newsome speaks the truth about "racially-motivated incidents"

https://twitter.com/BreeNewsome/status/1282833190646722561

News outlets be like:

“A white man was seen on video pointing a gun at an African-American man and calling him a n****r in what some civil rights activists claim is a racially-motivated incident.”

Replying to @BreeNewsome
“Is it a racially motivated incident? Tonight we’ll speak with the local president of the NAACP who says it is and a white conservative who says it isn’t.”

Notice they pretend that nothing can be objectively judged as racist. Racism is always a matter of opinion—not something that can be clearly identified based on definitions & historical fact— & nonwhite people lack objectivity in naming racism. Only white ppl have “objectivity”.

Another CEO loses his job after suddenly becoming a racist after too much to drink

RACIST RANT: JASON WOOD RESIGNS AS CEO AFTER CALLING FRESNO BARTENDER RACIAL SLUR

A business traveler spewed an angry, racist rant at a Fresno bartender who cut him off this week and now he's facing consequences.
...
"I'm leaving," Jason Wood said during his angry exchange with the calm bartender. "Don't worry about me. Don't worry about me, Saudi Arabia."

"What did you say?" asked Rebecca Hernandez, the bartender. "What did you say to me? I'm Saudi Arabian?"

"You're f***ing stupid like they are," Wood said.
...

He had repeatedly refused to wear a mask even when he came inside, so when they cut him off she got a little worried and started recording.

"I know you're not smart enough," he said to her. "You're a dark-haired dumbass, sand n***** mother f***** and that's fine."
...
"My words were unacceptable," he texted a reporter. "I am both embarrassed and saddened that I demonstrated this behavior. They were a result of being physically impaired, frustrated, and stupid. They are not representative of my personal beliefs or those of my company."

His company wiped its social media pages clean and isn't answering its phones anymore. On their website the following statement was posted: "Due to recent events, Actionable Insights is announcing the resignation of Mr. Jason Wood as our Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. This is a direct result of his recent unacceptable actions which are not representative of our core values. During this time of progressive social change, we are committed to ensure our company embodies a spirit of equality and respect for all people. On behalf of Mr. Wood and Actionable Insights, we extend our deepest apologies. It is our hope that we can move forward, and our reputation for integrity and excellence will navigate us through this difficult time."
