I believe that Joseph Robinette Biden and Merrick Brian Garland have met their moment in history...

Both men are fierce patriots, Biden from the quintessential working class American family and Merrick Garland, the grandson of immigrants escaping the Pale in Russia, seeking asylum from a world, all of whom rejected them except America. Both have given their lives to serving their country.

Nothing will stop them from seeing that justice is served. Take heart, the traitor and his cohorts will be brought low and will face justice before all the American people and all the world.

'Is It Treason Yet?'

https://www.newyorker.com/news/our-columnists/did-donald-trump-and-his-supporters-commit-treason

'For years, Carlton F. W. Larson, a treason scholar and law professor at the University of California, Davis, has swatted away loose treason accusations by both Donald Trump and his critics....He always said no. But the insurrection of January 6th changed his answer, at least with regard to Trump’s followers who attacked the Capitol in an attempt to stop Congress’s certification of the election. “It’s very clear that would have been seen as ‘levying war,’ ” he said.

Larson wrote in his book “On Treason: A Citizen’s Guide to the Law,” from 2020, that the Framers “had a very specific image in mind—men gathering with guns, forming an army, and marching on the seat of government.” Few events in American history, if any, have matched that description as clearly as the insurrection of January 6th, which, court documents suggest, was planned by milita members who may have intended to capture elected officials.

The founding-era Chief Justice John Marshall held in the treason trial of Aaron Burr that levying war entails “the employment of actual force” by “a warlike assemblage, carrying the appearance of force, and in a situation to practice hostility.” If some of those who attacked the Capitol assembled in order to incapacitate Congress—perhaps even by kidnapping or killing lawmakers—then their actions could be construed as an attempt to overthrow the government, and federal prosecutors could plausibly consider treason charges. As Larson put it, “At some point, you have to say, if that’s not levying war against the United States, then what on earth is?”'

Every time Donald Trump mocks someone good or decent or kind, I think of the 'Good Son', Mary's dad,

Frederick Crist Trump, Jr., his father's name sake and constant disappointment because he was, well, decent. Here's a bit from Wikipedia. He was the polar opposite of Donald.

First, there's this, which must have burned Fred, Sr's ass. 'Fred Jr. attended Lehigh University and joined a historically Jewish fraternity, Sigma Alpha Mu, even though he was not Jewish. He became president of the fraternity and graduated with a B.A. in business, also completing ROTC and entering the Air National Guard as a second lieutenant.'

Then there's this. 'Fred Jr. left the company to pursue his dream of being a pilot, quickly being accepted at Trans World Airlines, which created tension with his father. According to Fred Jr.'s daughter, Mary L. Trump (born 1965), her grandfather "dismantled him by devaluing and degrading every aspect of his personality." Both Fred Sr. and Donald mocked him for his decision to become an airline pilot, comparing it to driving a bus or being a chauffeur.'

He was everything Donald and Fred, Sr. were not. He earned his degree, it wasn't purchased for him. He wasn't a bigot. He was a Second Lieutenant in the Air National Guard. He was a commercial airline pilot, part of a small elite group of highly skilled men and women.

On September 26, 1981,at the age of 42, he died from a heart attack caused by his alcohol use.' Driven to it, I'm sure, by the constant belittling he took from the people who were supposed to love him.

A sad ending to a man any father would be proud of, except his own.

Thank you, A.G. Garland for aiming the Arrow of Justice straight into the corrupt heart of D.J.Trump

The shit is about to hit the fan between the DOJ and Donald J. Trump. I, for one, am grateful that Merrick Garland is so meticulous that Judge Reinhart stated:

'Magistrate Judge Bruce Reinhart offered his assessment in a 13-page order memorializing his decision to consider whether to unseal portions of the affidavit, which describe the evidence the bureau relied on to justify the search of the former president’s home. I was — and am — satisfied that the facts sworn by the affiant are reliable,” Reinhart said in the order.

A Democratic Foe Emerges From the Dark Swamp (my words)

https://heathercoxrichardson.substack.com/p/august-22-2022

As always the 'Letter' is chock full of information. This is what stood out for me.

Letters from an American: Heather Cox Richardson

'(A) $1.6 billion donation to a right-wing nonprofit organized in May 2020...is the largest known single donation made to a political influence organization. The money came from Barre Seid, a 90-year-old electronics company executive, and the new organization, Marble Freedom Trust, is controlled by Leonard A. Leo, the co-chair of the Federalist Society, who has been behind the right-wing takeover of the Supreme Court.

This massive donation is an example of so-called “dark money”...that do not have to disclose their donors. In the 2010 Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission (FEC) decision, the Supreme Court said that limiting the ability of corporations and other entities to advertise their political preferences violates their First Amendment right to free speech...They cannot collaborate directly with candidates or campaigns, but they can promote a candidate’s policies and attack opponents, all without identifying their donors.

What is it about Donald J. Trump?

He's a buffoon, a caricature of a self-made man, a fraud in every sense of the word. He's a liar, a cheat, a cardboard persona. He's corrupt to the bottom of his mean, shriveled, little heart. So what is it that makes millions of people willing to follow him to the gates of hell or into an insurrection against their own country?

In a word, the "Media". He is a media made creature. He is fake. He is make believe. He is not real. For decades he put himself in the papers calling in scoops about Mr. Trump as the fictional "John Barron". Then came the Apprentice. That piece of garbage ran for 15 seasons. Fifteen years of the 'fake' billionaire making deals and firing people on television. The big man with the big jet, the beautiful women, and the golden palace in Trump Tower. Oh, to be him or the woman with him, his ardent watchers thought.

All the while he's scamming everyone he comes in contact with: contractors, vendors, employees, customers. He's playing 'find the money' with the IRS, and making deals with Russian oligarchs awash in cash. And isn't he fortunate that every AG anywhere in New York (until recently) can't seem to find any crimes to charge him with?

Then, for reasons still not fully known, he decides to slither down his golden escalator for a run for President of the United States, and to his surprise and the world's chagrin, the lying, cheating, corrupt buffoon 'wins'. Then the crimes really begin. He couldn't help himself, there was a smorgasbord of stuff to steal, so many corrupt deals to be made. Money flowed into his golden coffers.

He didn't want it to ever end. And that is when he decided that he would be President Forever.

I'm wondering: When does the family begin to turn on The Donald?

He just won't stop poking the bear and the DOJ is a big f*ing bear. I think Ivanka and Jared have already distanced themselves. In fact, I don't see how Jared gets out of this mess without turning on Trump.

But what about the rest of them? In my opinion Don, Jr. was too damaged in childhood to ever turn on his father. He will go down with the ship. Eric, although not the brightest bulb, may be smart enough to save himself.

Then there is Melania and her beloved son, Barron. In my opinion Donald doesn't have a chance against her love for her son, which by all accounts is genuine. Her actions will be interesting to watch.

What do you think?
