McConnell, the conniving fuck that he is, allows a few senators to jump ship to vote to allow witnesses. Not sure of the protocol or procedure, but I think this would extend the hearings for a week or two. More incriminating evidence is presented. More outrage ensues. When the vote on whether or not to remove arrives, the decision has already been made to shitcan the orange Turd and vote overwhelmingly to convict. Suddenly, the republicans are the SAVIORS, the PATRIOTS, THEY SAVED THE REPUBLIC, AND ON AND ON AND ON, AD NAUSEUM.

What do you think would be the outcome of the 2020 election? And the next one, for that matter? Would they be favorable to the Democratic Party? Not a pretty thought. I think we'd be crushed.
