Sydney Barber

Midshipman 1st Class Sydney Barber of Lake Forest, Ill., has been chosen as the highest-ranked member of the student body at the United States Naval Academy. She is a beautiful, sharp, articulate young woman who happens to be Black. I don't think she is the first female, but she is the first Black female to become Brigade Commander.

She is 21 years old.

Face Mask Advertising

People are missing a good thing. Well, making lemonade out of lemons. After the pandemic is over, there won't be call to wear a mask. So now, you get to wear a fancy mask. Praying it doesn't last long...

People have worn masks with all kinds of graphics on them, expressing themselves. Why not pay to advertise your company? Walking billboards. Estimate how much to pay per impression, and then someone wears their mask with your advertisement on it.

People made businesses out of the need for masks. Take it one step further. Good quality mask with your ad on it. Deduct it as a business expense.

I wouldn't be offended to see someone working for money like that. As someone told me, it would add up. Proper covering of nose and mouth, too.

Riverside Sheriff Statement

The public speech by the Sheriff in full uniform under the color of authority is appalling. He denies the need for a lockdown and mocks the effort.

What in the world are we supposed to do? Just go out, get infected, and die for a good time?? Why does HE think that he should come forth and tell people this?

He should be made to visit a hospital and see what the staff and patients are going through.

Wear your masks, social distance yourself, wash your hands, and be as patient as you can be. Stay home! The virus isn't the new state of the world; we will learn its secrets and we will beat it.

And, I know that people are worried to death about how they will get along. Well, Biden/Harris will be along shortly. Fight! Support your local food banks. And, don't listen to some jerk with a star on his chest that tells you it isn't necessary to do these things. He's an idiot!

Mental toughness

Here is a link to Trump's speech from yesterday (I believe.)

This is a nonstop rant against the election outcome, filled with lies. He doesn't exactly have spittle coming out, but he is still a lunatic. Strangely, he did not huff and puff like he normally does, although he never paused for 46 minutes or so.

In this speech, he stated that he does not want a revote. He simply wants to be declared the winner. Well, what are you going to do with that...??

On December 14th, the Electors will vote. It will not be over on that date. As much as we all would like to lay down our weary heads, it will go on to January 6th. We have to be strong, tough, and ready.

On the 6th, we can expect an objection to the Electors to be made from the floor. We have been through this before, but not with anyone like Trump. We have to support our Congress people like nobody's business. They cannot flinch or compromise with the Repubs on any kind of change to the vote whatsoever.

They will debate for two hours, I guess behind closed doors, and then they will announce the outcome. If no compromise is reached, I guess that's when it could go before Trump's SC.

If we wake up on the 7th with Trump as President, I will scream.

A good alternate location

What would be a good, alternate WH location if we have to drag Donnie Two Scoops out of the building?

We need to Lysol both the WH and Camp David. So...?

Some location that everyone can reach, easily fortified for protection, and clean. What other Federal buildings are there?

Hey, I'm thinking ahead. I favor turning off the utilities, cutting off the fast food deliveries, and preventing TV interviews. I'm content to wait. No need for fisticuffs.

EC Vote

"The Electoral College Votes will be cast and counted on 14 December, which must then be delivered to Vice President Mike Pence, in his capacity as Senate president, by 23 December. When the new Congress is sworn in on 6 January 2021 one of their first tasks will be to officially count the vote and Pence will declare the winner."

So, take it easy on me. I'm not a fearmongerer or anything like that. But, I can't help but note that those advocating for Trump to declare martial law are speaking up now.

So, while I am not saying that this is what will happen, I do question that, if it were to happen, would it happen BEFORE the EC casts it's votes on Dec. 14th? Cuz, it's already Dec. 2nd, and we are fast approaching Dec. 14th.

I hate surprises.

What should I do with my $17?

I notice my SS is going up by $17 in December, in time for Jan. 2021. Whoop-dee-do. It warms the cockles of my heart.

What should I do with it? Pour it into the vast, yawning jaws of my utility payments? Buy more powdered eggs versus real chickens? Stock pile delicacies for my sweet cats (2)? Sneak in more Big Cups? Buy a pair of Size 12s, should I find them? Or...? (Maybe some stocks--but I'm not a privileged insider, like some we know, sooo...)

The Joint Chiefs

So, the news about the B-52 bombers has me edgy. I know that the military conducts many operations that are ordinary. But.

I do not believe Trump is done. I think this whole election clown show has been for something other than the stated reasons. I am worried about what he is doing in the ME.

If he wants to bomb Iran, I don't think he can just do that. For instance, there is that deal about Congress declaring war. I also think that he will fire all the Joint Chiefs first. But, if he fires even one, I am going to really worry--but, I don't clutch pearls.

Tell me it'll be okay.
