When the naysayers doubted that Joe Biden could win the 2020 presidential primary, the highest-ranking Black member of Congress, Rep. James E. Clyburn of South Carolina, endorsed him and changed the trajectory of the presidential race.
With President Biden once again on the political ropes, some Black members of the House appear ready to rally behind the embattled chief executive, in an embrace that will significantly influence whether he can stay in his reelection race, according to five people familiar with the matter. Like others, they spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss internal conversations.
The importance of the roughly 60-member Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) — which includes Clyburn and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) — was on display Monday night as Biden met with the bloc in a Zoom call, the first with a group of elected lawmakers. The message that many Black Democrats planned to convey to Biden, according to the people familiar with the CBC’s thinking: We will stick by you as we always have.
Biden appeared to understand the significance of the CBC’s support — and the moment.

Why do people think switching out Joe at this point would solve anything?
There is the problem of using campaign funds that have been pledged to Biden.
Repubs are ready to challenge any changes in court, and we know they will find judges to their liking, who could at least delay if not help them.
The media will be ravenous on vetting our new candidate.
Many Democrats who do not follow politics closely are going to wonder what the hell is going on.
This makes absolutely no sense to me. We MUST support Joe!

It’s a summer Saturday which has always been a golf day in Chez Rayne. Not that I’ve always played golf on this day of the week but I can count on my spouse hitting the links every Saturday from spring to fall.
Likewise you can bet your ass the orange-tinted former bawbag is playing golf.
Just as you could count on him playing golf while he was president, for more than 22% of his days he served in office.

Anybody remember "All the President's Men"? The Repubs wanted to run against McGovern, and they finally managed to get Muskie out of the race. They are using a subservient media for help this time

Polls are saying that the marijuana and abortion constitutional amendments in Florida have broad support (they need at least 60%)
And if that is true-and the turnout is larger then expected, in part for these amendments...
Then I say Joe Biden wins Florida and puts an end to the Orange Monster a lot earlier on Election night than expected 
Question for those who understand government clearances
So I was watching an episode of "NASA's Unexplained Files" and one of the participants said that a President (think it was Carter, I wasn't really paying that much attention) asked about files relating to UFO's, and the President was told he didn't have high enough clearance to view those files! I'm thinking that's malarky, am I right?
Lyft driver-and aspiring pro wrestler-killed by cop who "heard voices"
A former Atlanta Police officer accused of murdering a Lyft driver claimed he was hearing voices and thought he was being kidnapped during the ride before the shooting, according to Union City police.
Police said Koby Minor is accused of shooting and killing Reginald Folks, 35, Wednesday after Folks dropped Minor off at his home.
According to police, Minor told officers Folks was driving him home from another Atlanta police officer’s home, when Minor began hearing an “unknown voice” in his ear. He did not tell Union City police what the voice said.
The arrest warrants said Minor told police he believed Folks was in a “gay fraternity” and that Minor believed he was being kidnapped to be recruited into it.

Reggie Folks took a job driving for the ride-share company Lyft to help fund his dream of making it big as a professional wrestler.
Those who knew and loved Folks will gather Thursday for his funeral. Folks, 35, was shot to death last week while on the job in Union City, south of Atlanta.
The shooting happened May 15 at the intersection of Stonewall Tell Road and South Fulton Parkway. Union City police charged Folks’ passenger with murder.
Koby Minor, a 35-year-old Atlanta police officer who was on administrative leave at the time because of an unrelated incident, told police he shot Folks because he believed he was trying to kidnap him, according to the incident report.
