Ted Budd lied to me!

He's running a TV ad claiming Biden is going to hire 87,000 IRS agents to harass the middle class. Of course, there are wild exaggerations and mischaracterizations at play here.

No malarky I say!

When will we get back to Dow 36000?

Women have the numbers to make MAGA-men pay for the Dobbs debacle

Whether they will cancel their MAGA-husbands' MAGA-votes or not in large numbers remains to be seen. Some perceive that as a kind of betrayal. I can respect that on some level.

I'm not a fan of single-issue voting, but this is the best of the single-issue voting issues. Those tend to go to the right, but not this one. If it results in a lot of anger-voting...and it should...it's all good.

"MAGA Republican" is a fitting label for Biden to use

I don't believe a MAGA-hat-wearing Republican would be immediately offended by that moniker. They are Republicans and they support MAGA. Biden even graciously qualified it by stating that most Republicans aren't MAGA Republicans. Contrast that with the mischaracterizing labels weaponized by the right: woke left, radical democrats, socialist liberals. These are fired off in a far less gracious, overly broad way. The repeated assertions form unsound rightwing media presuppositions with no actual support.

That said, there's a bit of an edge to the MAGA Republican label. It suggests that MAGA Republicans are somehow different from regular Republicans. There's a divide there. Divides can be widened and then attacked. It insults subtly without being undignified. It showcases a Democratic strength: being able to accurately characterize the Republican platform before effectively kicking at the foundations. There's no need to create straw man arguments when the real arguments can be directly dismantled.
